Yay Joan. She is totally right.

Yeah, she gets it, and it’s funny when she says it, but not so much when it comes from: Anger, your neighbor, strangers, people on the street, kids in the school yard, the college campus, an office cubicle, an elevator, a restaurant, your own family, a friend, an in-law, a bar, a club, or anywhere else. Yeah, we all are something, but hopefully something beyond a derogatory name.

Of course Joan Rivers takes Alec Baldwin’s side. Her entire career is based on calling other people bad names. She just calls it a comedy routine.

“….so why don’t we all just. Calm. Down. “. Perfect. She gets it.
What Alec Bakdwin said was truly uncalled for and quite unfortunate, but I don’t believe it warranted his losing his show.

@avesraggiana: Actually his tirade was just one of a series of events, including loudly mocking a woman with cancer and about 10 other verbal confrontations with staff.

If it’s ok, why wasn’t she quoted correctly? And why, if I were to type w*p, n###a, k!ke, ch%nk, [email protected], m$ck as they are correctly spelled, the comment will be censored in violation of the Queerty Comment policy?

Quite the double standard. Either condemn her statement or change your policy.

@balehead: Let ’em. It’s a weightless “argument” that only resonates with others who are less than bright. And those who choose to expound will sound daft: “Obama’s coming for your guns! How will we protect our public restrooms?!?”

      Poor right-wing. Can’t help themselves….yippie!….

    • 2eo

@zrocqs: Generally you can look at the standard of poster to determine the correct action, if the likes of Balehead and others significantly lesser people love it then it is wrong.

Yes Joan, everybody IS something. The problem is, Baldwin called the other guy a faggot, using it as an insult.

Then again, this bitch doesn’t even want her writers to get paid so I guess as long as it doesn’t effect her it’s unimportant.

Alec is really showing his true colours, a mysterious “gay mafia” is responsible for his punishment, evidently we have the power to make him yell at people with cancer.

Sorry but why is she still considered a gay icon? She hasn’t been funny since the 70’s.

She’s absolutely right. Folks need to stop taking themselves so seriously all the time. And we all know she wasn’t insulting anyone. Way to sensationalize!

@Cam: So you’re mad about Baldwin dropping F-bombs, yet you feel free to call women bitches? Hypocritical much?

@KDub: You’re not clever enough to goad that correctly. Nice try, you get a D- for application though.

I don’t agree with what Baldwin said, though I kinda understand what Rivers is getting at. Seems odd to me that so many deplore homophobia but then come on this thread to make ageist comments about someone they don’t know.

    • hotshot70

Good for Joan. She doesn’t apologize for anything, and shouldn’t. Heck, we could make up a word and someone would step up claiming its mean!

      Nov 27, 2013 at 7:19 pm · @ReplyReply to this comment ·
    • Cagnazzo82

@hotshot70: No, actually you can make up a word, and kick the crap out of someone while calling them that word, and/or killing them.

      Then we’ll say ‘it’s mean’.

Joan is a Republican, so I’m not surprised she said this. She’s one of the most unfunny, hypocritical loons around. She will blow a fuse if you dare make fun of her daughter. Her daughter was even off-limits at her roast.

Joan is mentally ill. She can’t stop chopping up her face. Stop defending a crazy person.

She needs to stop stealing other’s material too.

@RiBrad: I love the logic being thrown around in this comment section.

“Hey guys! I know your problem better than you do! Why? Because I DONT’ HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM! So deal with it!”

      That’s basically Joan River’s argument.

“Alec Baldwin has never been in a position of being marginalized ever. Therefore, you people need to stop being so sensitive about words that might’ve been used against you to marginalize you! Screw your problems, I’ve never had them, so why should I care about you?”

      Totally absurd and illogical.
