Jodie Foster Stands By Longtime Racist Gay-Hating Pal Mel Gibson During ‘This Dark Moment’

Whoopi Goldberg couldn’t hate on Mel Gibson because she knows him personally and lets the rageaholic hang out around her kids. Now Jodie Foster — after telling More magazines month before the actor’s latest slur-filled voicemails leaked that Gibson is the “easiest, nicest person I’ve ever worked with…The second I met him, I said, ‘I will love this man for the rest of my life'” — is sticking to her friendship with Amerca’s Most Hated Actor-Writer-Producer-Director.

“When you love a friend, you don’t abandon them when they are struggling,” Foster says of Gibson now. “Of course, Mel is an undeniably gifted actor and director, and The Beaver is one of his most powerful and moving performances. But more importantly, he is and has been a true and loyal friend. I hope I can help him get through this dark moment.”

It’s easy for folks to hate on Gibson, because well, really. But with Foster coming to his defense, or at least not abandoning Gibson in his dark time of need, is the lesbian actress going to face any backlash? Or can we all give her pass for standing by a fellow rageaholic?

I think I see a romantic threeway in the future, between Gibson, Foster, and Randy Rainbow.
