Charlie XCX, the pop wunderkind behind still-unavoidable earworms like Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” Icona Pop’s “I Love It,” and her own “Boom Clap,” is back to save the world — or at least the summer — with her new blippy, bouncy, not-even-three-minute single “Boys.”
The video makes good on the subject matter by cramming it to the breaking points with cameos of handsome famous men sexing it up, stripping it down, and generally being sultry-sexy, including (but not limited to) Joe Jonas wearing a sexy milk mustache, Tom Daley taking a sultry shower, and Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig somehow making brushing his alluring.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg: this visual paean to men in all their splendor also stars Mac DeMarco, Diplo, Cameron Dallas, Rostam,Riz Ahmed and Swet Shop Boys, Jack Antonoff, Mark Ronson, Flume, Wiz Khalifa, D.R.A.M., Kaytranada, Stormzy, Ty Dolla $ign, Joey Bada$$, Chromeo, Charlie Puth, and Khalid.
It’s a lot of man-flesh — and it might just be attached to the song of the summer.
How about we take this to the next level?

Negative Nancy seems to think her preference for elevator music and old Playgirl centerfolds from the 1980s set the standard for acceptable music and eye candy.

Seemed more like a chore to watch it than anything. A lot of social media stars in there, too, which of course makes my eyes roll even more. Covering all those bases, girl
