Joe Rogan has a problem with The Gays. Or at least he has a problem when invoking them in public, like he did during his Ultimate Fighting Championship commentary, getting into a fight with Brazilian journalist Tomas Rios over something so dumb I couldn’t even finish the article (really, it is that stupid), but which included Rogan calling him a “faggot.” On Twitter. “You wanted my attention, f**got? You got it,” he wrote. Because really, what UFC needs right now is another machismo-fueled fuck throwing around the F-word.
Rogan posted this “apology,” which misses the whole point, and cements his status as a douchebag. I think it’s time to send in Daniel Puder.
I apologize for my use of the word “fa*got.” I enjoy that word immensely, and although I do not intend for its use to be interpreted as a negative term for homosexuals, but rather as I’ve always used it to imply that a person is weak and pathetic, which I believe Rios to be. I understand that in this ultra-sensitive, politically correct world we live in one must be careful of the words they choose, for in choosing the wrong one you can give your adversary a new angle of distraction, as I see Rios is concentrating on that now instead of owning up to the fact that he has no f*cking idea what the proper terminology of the kick he criticized me of describing was.
What’s really important is not a hot button insult word, or a disagreement on terms used to describe techniques, but rather completely incompetent reporters masquerading as martial arts experts. Rios is a negative a**hole that consistently insults fighters and produces fight breakdowns that resemble what I would expect from an angry failure with no friends who has spent too much time alone with a thesaurus trying to convince people that he’s clever.
I have sat back and watched this shit-head spout out his horrible, disrespectful nonsense for a long time, and was truly happy when he was fired by sherdog, and absolutely perplexed when I found out that Fighters Only Magazine is actually giving him actual real money for the bulls*it he’s trying to pass off as journalism.
Fighters Only is one of the very best magazines in the sport, and as per my correspondence with them I’m delighted that I’m not the only one that thinks he’s an a**hat and a terrible journalist.When I saw that he had opened his dumb trap about me I welcomed the opportunity to shut him up.
As for my use of the offensive word “f**got” please accept my apologies and replace it with “c**k-sucker.”

First off, Devon, enough with the immature commentary about MMA. Not helpful to anything. As a former jiu jitsu competitor, I find that crap just as offensive as Rogan’s comments.
As for Rogan. I honestly have no clue what to think about him. The guy is one of the best commentators in the business. He trains hard and knows his MMA (TKD black belt and major player and a brown belt in jiu jitsu; this guy isn’t some wannabe too fat to even get on the mat). He’s also a hardcore druggie… pot, shrooms, LSD, and DMT. And a few years back, his website was full of stuff about aliens.

This is exactly the same as when younger generations use the word gay with a negative connotation, they aren’t saying that a TV show(for example)likes to have sex with other television shows of the same gender–clearly. The English language is a living thing and it changes day to day. If you were to say “TTYL” to somebody in the 80’s they’d have no idea what you were talking about. Someday everybody will be using a different word instead of gay to put things down and people will probably still have a stick up their ass about it. Joe Rogan is just representative of a demographic. The suburban, loudmouthed, jock, manchild douchebag. He’s doing what Dana White hired him to do, and that is to lower the discourse in MMA (at least as far as UFC is involved, which isn’t saying much) to the level of a video gaming 13 year olds’ understanding. That’s who the fights sell to, not to mention the swag, so that’s who they target.
In the meantime, Martial Artists who approach this “sport” (*cough*) as something worthwhile in our adult lives to forge a path towards personal development get lumped in with the rest of the high school wrestler, homophobe and unprincipled, yet strangely “Christian” crowd. My gym is full of them, and they 1)can’t fight. 2)draw from everything and give nothing, except to waste others time 3)argue, and act self aggrandizing the way their entitled SUV driving mothers taught them, and NEVER will “man up” and back their word in any way, so don’t expect it. They don’t have a dad, just a lump of Republican resentment hiding behind a USA Today.
Basically Dana is creating a nation of douches when he could have done so much more. It’s affecting the rules in the cage (favors “lay-n-pray” wrestler scrotes) and the martial arts as their being practiced, packaged, and taught here in the US, and I’m not sold that it’s for the better. I’ve seen Joe Rogan’s stand-up act, and he comes off as a humble, transgressive, thinker who crosses boundaries of sin and hypocrisy more honestly than is socially acceptable. Because, he says he loves the word “faggot” I’m convinced he replaced it with “cocksucker” ironically [which is not the same as sarcastically].
BTW if substituting “queer” for “homosexual” successfully removed its derogatory connotations so well why don’t we just call each other “faggot” until we clean that word? However, the issue was that the original text of this article did state that Joe Rogan was Adam Corolla’s co-host, which is what I was actually commenting on. Obviously that text has disappeared from the rewrite after Joe’s “apology”. Thanks tho…
