John Barrowman is letting his true colors show for his upcoming 50th birthday.
The buff-bodied, blue-eyed Arrow star celebrates the big 5-0 on March 11. In preparation, he shared a picture of his new buzzcut on his Facebook page.
But instead of the thick dark brown locks everyone is used to seeing, Barrowman gave the world a peak of his natural salt-and-pepper hair color, hold the pepper:

I’m 50 myself and I’m getting it on the sides. I refuse to have grey sides though and color it.

Yeah….I’m sure you’ll look so young, natural, and attractive [and emotionally secure] when you hit 60 and you’re another troll with dyed hair, looking ridiculous, who can’t gracefully accept the natural progression of getting older. I can only imagine how botoxed and filled your face might be…… Coloring one’s hair to try to disguise aging is no better than a comb-over or a toupee’. ….but hey, if you want people to laugh at you behind your back, and need them to lie and tell you how fabulous and young you look, by all means go for it. I would just hate to evolve into a sad cliche’. Good luck with that.

Enjoy it while you can. I started going gray at 23 and dyed until the beard and pubes started coming in white at which point I said “f**k it” and let mother nature have her way.

I think its personal choice. I’m the only male in my family with hair!!! so the fact its going grey at 40 doesn’t worry me, I’m just glad to still have it 🙂

@Alan down in Florida, I started going grey at 19. I like my grey streak in my hair however. In fact I love it. What I don’t like is the grey in my beard when I choose to grow one because I feel like it makes me look a lot older. I have toyed with the idea of covering it but I don’t know for sure if I will.

When it comes to haircolor, I’ve only ever heard “natural.” The Frenchified “au naturel” I’ve only heard in reference to nudity.
And, gosh, John Barrowman could have party-colored hair and I’d still like it.

He looks much younger with the grey. The dark hair dye contrasted too much with his skin tone and made him looking older. As we age our skin tone changes. His dark hair color “said” 30 and his skin “said” older. Now that he has his natural grey the contrast isn’t extreme.
