Will It Save Him In New Hampshire?

John Edwards Gets Gay Support

Presidential candidate John Edwards got a ringing endorsement yesterday. New Hampshire Freedom To Marry Coalition proclaimed the Democrat to be their electoral favorite. Said the Coalition’s executive director, State Rep. Mo Baxley:

I am proud to announce both our group’s endorsement, as well as my personal endorsement, of John Edwards for president.

We took a long look at all of the candidates, we met with many of them, and in our judgment, John Edwards’ sincere commitment to battling discrimination and ensuring equal rights for every American is unparalleled. He and his wonderful wife Elizabeth have spent their entire lives fighting for those without a voice and standing up for what is right.

John Edwards will be the kind of president we can trust to stand up for everyday Americans.

A marriage coalition is supporting a candidate who doesn’t support gay marriage? Election season sure does make people do crazy things!

Regardless, things aren’t looking good for Edwards in New Hampshire: a December 11th Rasmussen Poll gives him 17% of the vote. Barack and Hillary wallop him with 31% and 28%, respectively.
