In the excellent HBO film, “The Normal Heart”, there’s a short clip, of just a few precious short seconds, of Mark Ruffalo topping Matt Bomer in the missionary position. The moment was so short and so dimly and gauzily lit that most straight audience members would have missed it. But if they hadn’t I’m sure it would have surprised them to learn that we could make love face-to-face.

So many dorks post here. How many times do you have to post that you didn’t like the show? If you don’t like articles about something (like Looking), just don’t read them; nobody is twisting your arm. Sometimes I try to imagine what life is like for people who are so negative on about everything. Must be a lively crowd!

Don’t get all the hate. (Well actually, I do: it’s called self-loathing.) Scores and scores of straight TV shows running. Don’t watch most. But I don’t direct any vitriol toward them and I don’t hear other gay folk sounding off about them. Liked “Looking,” often smartly written and mostly well acted, and would love to see more shows with largely gay story lines and casts–of all shapes, colors, and cultures.

I just don’t get Queerty’s obsession with ‘Looking’. It was a lame show with lame story lines and it was canceled because of it. There is an awesome show on Logo now called ‘Cucumber’ that has really good writing and gay characters that Queerty has written nothing about. There is another show on Pivot from Australia called ‘Please Like Me’ which is also great.
By the likes of this web site you would think that ‘Looking’ was the only show about gay people ever made in the history of the would. There are a lot of shows out there with gay characters which are good- you just have to LOOK!!!!
