Fresh off his stint of being the Twitter laughingstock du jour after showcasing his lack of understanding of basic human anatomy, anti-LGBTQ Sen. Josh Hawley was harshly criticized on the floor of the U.S. Senate on Thursday.
In a speech that’s since gone viral, Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz blasted Hawley for holding up Pentagon nominations. But Schatz’s condemnation went much further than that.
“He is damaging the Department of Defense,” he said. “And this comes from a guy who raised his fist in solidarity with the insurrectionists.”

“And this comes from a guy who, before the Russian invasion, suggested that maybe it would be wise for Zelensky to make a few concessions about Ukraine and their willingness to join NATO. This comes from a guy who just about a month ago voted against Ukraine aid! He’s saying it’s going too slow? He voted ‘no’ — he voted ‘no’ on Ukraine aid and now he has the gall to say it’s going too slow!”

Schatz continued: “And coming from a person who exonerated Donald Trump for extorting Zelensky for withholding lethal aid? They withheld lethal aid until, unless Zelensky would release false smears against Joe Biden’s son. And then he voted to exonerate President Trump for this. And so spare me the new solidarity with the Ukrainians and with the free world because this man’s record is exactly the opposite.”
The spectacle quickly gained traction on Twitter, with folks commenting on the catharsis of witnessing the brutal rebuke.
Watching Brian Schatz destroy Josh Hawley over Hawley’s blocking of the senior staffing leadership at the DOD was one of the best things to happen this week.

for the Republican congress, it’s all about getting back control of the Federal government. they won’t acknowledge the instigators or supporters of the insurrection, regardless of whether it was from inside or out.

I Loved listening to Brian so much!! I lived in Missouri for 7 years…Hawley is a POS. Every time I see him, I think “he’s so creepily perfect” his hair is perfect, his clothes are always immaculate, he speaks so righteously, you know he’s doing weird stuff when the camera is off. IDK what skeletons are going to come out of his closet, but they will come out eventually. I can’t wait until that day…

Well, they did pass a landmark infrastructure bill, and they also passed a massive relief package in 2021 that has turned the economy around from the disaster Don the Con left it in. So they do get some things done.

Hawley is a traitor and more people with power and influence should speak out against him.

From what I saw, Rep. Hawley was excoriated by at least one more Representative besides Senator Schatz (he also had things to say about others of that ilk). We need more of this in Congress.
