Sean Spicer, the lackey who used to regularly spread Trump’s lies to the American public while serving as his White House Press Secretary, is going to be on the upcoming season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, his co-“star” Karamo Brown said he considered the liar “a good guy, a really sweet guy.”
Yeah, sweet like a kick to the throat.

When asked who he thought his biggest competition is, Brown answered:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“Actually, no lemme tell you something. Um, Sean Spicer and I have been talking. Yeah, like, literally, I was most excited to meet him because, like the thing is that people would look at us and think that we’re polar opposites but I’m a big believer that if you can talk to someone and meet in the middle that you can learn about each other and help each other both grow. So we have been chatting all day today. Like, he’s a good guy, a really sweet guy. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Karamo from Queer Eye saying Sean Spicer is a nice guy. I know. I know.”
Well at least Brown knows, girl.
Brown should also know:
Spicer lied to the press about the circumstances surrounding the firing of then-national security adviser Michael Flynn and the firing of former FBI Director James Comey. On the very network that airs “Dancing with the Stars,” Spicer defended Trump’s baseless and frankly racist lie that three to five million people voted illegally in the November election.
Trump used Spicer’s lies to help obstruct an investigation into Russia’s role into helping get him elected and to start a Voter Fraud Commission to suppress voter turnout amongst Democrats and people of color. Spicer also lied about a bunch of other hateful stuff too.
“A good guy, a really sweet guy.”
When called out by disappointed fans for helping rehabilitate Spicer’s well-deserved infamy, Brown responded in some now-deleted tweets:
“First, I have no say who is on the cast and didn’t find out till this morning that he is on! But I’ll tell you this… I’m excited to sit down w/ him and engage in a respectful conversations. Only way things get better is if we try to educate those who have different POV than us.”
In another tweet, Brown also expressed how he “can’t stand people” who post things “just to flame the fire and get a reaction. We fight harder than your ass ever has for people of color and members of the LGBTQIA community” after someone else called him out.
Here’s video of Brown talking about how “nice” Spicer is:

As The Cut points out, Dancing With the Stars has featured right-wing political figures before including grifty Tom DeLay, white supremacist Tucker Carlson, Alaska moose-mom Bristol Palin and former Texas Governor Rick Perry before he became our Secretary of Energy. We assume it’s just a bid by ABC to get conservative viewers. Blecccch.

Congratulations to Karamo for recognizing that not all people who disagree with him are “enemies.”
Hdtex
Quislings are the latest fashion!
rustyiam
Or racists or nazis or fascists!
Cam
And by “Disagree with him” you mean somebody who thinks he shouldn’t have any rights and wants to harm him.
JaredMacBride
@Cm – Can’t you t least manage something original for your predictable hyperbolic whining? Please point out when Spicer said Kamaro shouldn’t have any rights or that he wanted to harm him.
DarkZephyr
Sorry Queerty, you aren’t going to get me to turn on Karamo Brown. I definitely disagree with his opinion on Sean Spicer, but Karamo Brown himself ISN’T Sean Spicer. Stop trying to get us to eat our own for Christ’s Sake, Queerty.
GentlemanCaller
What about when “our own” turn on us, and display their true self-loathing colors as people who’ve set aside our interests in order to roll around in media money? THEN is it OK to look at them differently?
DarkZephyr
That’s not what this is. Next.
UlfRaynor
Um… the same Karamo Brown who refused to meet with the other fab 4 with Democratic leaders at the congressional building about supporting the Equality Act they were working on, stating his reason for not attending:
“The thing I love about the #Fab5 the most is that we all don’t hold the same view but we respect each other and the process.”
Then added:
“For me, its important to champion leaders who understand the importance of speaking the truth and who also understand that our democracy is a bipartisan system & in order to see sustainable change U must find a way to work w/ the other side while not disrespecting your own party”
The very same Karamo Brown who went to the Whitehouse to meet with Mike Pence and his wife, praising her for her work helping students in the arts… you know, the private school she teaches for that discriminates against LGBT students
That was way more than enough for me to not only turn against him, but stop supporting their stupid show.
niles
when the community follows idiots like this idiot, you really have to ask yourself why.
RomanHans
Next time I watch Queer Eye will be after somebody’s made over the gutless Karamo.
wancell
Credit to the people on the comments here that realize we should not be closed minded to talking with people who believe differently than ourselves and the hypocrisy of accusing those people of being closed minded while refusing to have open dialogue with them.
Hdtex
Will you feel the same when they have a foot to your throat KAPO?
GentlemanCaller
There’s a big ol’ difference between “people who believe differently than ourselves” and people who actively work, and support others who actively work, to destroy us and eliminate our fundamental rights as human beings and US citizens. Spicer was trump’s mouthpiece, defending and supporting a proud racist, homophobe, traitor, misogynist, and lying senile lunatic who, along with his insane fundamentalist VP, has done more to overturn GLBT rights in the United States through executive order, federal rules changes, and judicial action than Reagan or the Bushes ever did. There’s no rational conversation to be had with these people.
Cam
Oh look, another new account that tries to hide, hate and bigotry behind the words “Believes differently”.
Hdtex
Look at the House Negro doing the old Step N’ Fechit routine. AmeriKKKa loves a good minstrel show!
Sister Bertha Bedderthanyu
I know you won’t believe this but what you just said went overboard. The thought of this guy being born and raised out in the suburbs and never had to deal with the problems of the inner city never crossed your mind, did it? Or maybe he learned how to roll with the punches of ignorance from people who are different but you didn’t or won’t? Just about all of my comments are held for moderation but yet you got away with that? Lord, have mercy on them (Queerty I’m referring to).
TheBigOne
People such as yourself are the reason that people such as MYSELF have nothing to do with the gay community. We know that YOUR types are out there, judging others based on nothing more than skin color. YOU also have a label–RACIST.
niles
We see why this show is a success. They are walking talking stereotypes who worship straight white men and know their place. No matter what is being done to their own kind, they still are quite giddy, knowing they will be allowed to do their minstrel dance to the brief amusement of their oppressors. Yeah, both sides doesn’t work when one side wants you dead.
YourDad
Not until Sean Spicer says, “I lied for the president. I put money and fame above the truth, and I’m sorry for the damage I caused” will I agree with Karamo Brown. You don’t befriend lying accomplices to this president’s hate show unless they truly understand the damage they caused and seek redemption. Otherwise, Mr. Brown, your message of education and acceptance of those with a “different POV” (truth?) rings as hollow as the 1-day, life-changing “therapy” sessions you conduct on Queer Eye.
GentlemanCaller
Sorry, Karamo, you’re a clueless privileged media whore protecting another clueless privileged media whore. (And no offense intended to sex workers.) I don’t care how much Spicer pats you on the head, he spent a good chunk of time palling around with and ardently defending a homophobic, racist, white-supremacist, treasonous lunatic, and he doesn’t get a do-over or extra credit for anything until he denounces his boss and apologizes for the damage he’s done. Screw Spicer, screw trump, and screw you.
Donston
I’m not gonna go at Karamo for those comments. Was he supposed to say the guy is a jackass if their interactions have been friendly? Nonetheless, Karamo has always been a lame ass-kisser. So, I don’t take anything he says seriously.
Mack
Yes from what I’ve seen Sean Spicer is a nice guy. He appears so in every interview I’ve seen him in. But in reality, he’s also a paid liar. Some of the biggest con-men and liars have been known to be “very nice people”. I believe they said the same thing about Ted Bundy.
Flamingo Falls
This is tantamount to calling Joseph Goebbels a “nice, really sweet guy.” As trump’s mouthpiece, Spicer spread the official lies, just as Sarah Huckabee Sanders did. They do not deserve our respect, let alone our understanding. They are as culpable as the likes of Sebastian Gorka, Steve Bannon, Steven Miller, Kellyanne Conway, and the rest of this lawless, deceitful regime.
Brian
No, it’s nothing like that.
hayesj
Just because you’re a gay man with a TV show, you can still be stupid fool. Good lord. What an idiot.
Cam
Isn’t this the 3rd member of the Queer Eye team that has defended Republican anti-LGBTQ bigots?
Donston
None of those dudes are about politics or sociological issues. They’re all almost entirely about being inoffensive, having wide appeal, playing it safe, continuing to get jobs, continuing to make money. It is what it is.
UlfRaynor
I know Berk did and Karamo, not so sure about any of the others.
youarederanged
I knew this story would get all the crazies worked up. Karamo is too reasonable for most of the deranged gays who write for this site and leave comments. Can you imagine if every gay public figure in the past refused to work with or even have basic kindness toward people on the other side? We actually would have no rights. This whole notion that Sean Spicer or Trump want to take away all of our rights is derangement at it’s best and elitism in its purest form. Of course all the privileged liberal gays in America, with all our rights and protections, have to compare their plight to gays in places like Uganda or Ukraine who actually don’t have rights. Honey please. Go to any of the thousands of gay bars in our country, including in the south, see all the gay husbands and lesbian wives, talk with them about their adopted kids and shard healthcare, the businesses they own and the fact that the majority of Americans support them. Then go to Ukraine and try and repeat that. You people are sick. Liberals are so elitist that they can’t even hide it anymore. And hypocrites! Remember when Michelle said when they go low we go high? What a load of bs. You don’t even want to talk to people in a humane way or even try to find a positive quality about other human beings who aren’t 100% in agreement with you. But, I’m loving it. The house of cards is falling and so many gays are going to walk away from the angry group think that has taken over our community. Nasty, nasty queens.
James
GET LOST YOU SICK NAZI TRASH.
James
WE HAD A MILLION PEOPLE AT OUR LAST GAY DAY PARADE. YOU AND YOUR STUPID LOG CABIN TRASH HATE GROUP HAD THREE. LOSER.
youarederanged
Neither a Nazi nor a Republican here. Good try though. You probably think your life is as tough as gays in the Middle East or Africa or any of the other places where it’s actually scary and very difficult to be gay. American gays are privileged gays who like to play victim. It’s pathetic.
James
KARAMO IS UNCLE TOM.
James
SO GLAD I DO NOT WATCH THIS STUPID PHONY SHOW.
peteypie
If Karamo Brown really wanted to have an impact, speak with Sean Spicer, privately, as he obviously did and keep it to himself. I believe the only reason Brown spoke about this publicly was for attention. Sometimes working to change things means doing it quietly.
