Keith Phoenix: Guilty of Hate Crime Murder

Keith Phoenix, 30 (pictured, right), whose previous trial ended in a mistrial, was convicted Monday night by a Brooklyn jury of second-degree murder as a hate crime in the disgusting slaying of José Sucuzhanay, as well as attempted assault as a hate crime for also going after José’s brother Romel Sucuzhanay — the highest charges prosecutors sought. He faces 40 years in prison at his August 5 sentencing, just like Hakim Scott (pictured, left).
