Kevin Spacey Still Bristles Over Esquire Magazine Article That Suggested He’s Gay

Gotham Magazine Celebrates Summer In The City With Kevin SpaceyLet’s let people live their lives and do it the way they want to do it. All the chips will fall in the end, and we’ll all be judged by a much higher power than Entertainment Weekly can.”

The House of Cards star referring to the 1997 Esquire magazine profile which sorta tried to out him and which he described at the time as “dishonest and malicious,” in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter

  • Billy Budd

There is a photo on the internet of Kevin pinching the butt of an escort from eastern europe. He seemed ecstatic.

  • Billy Budd

    And drunk.

  • Pistolo

Heterosexuals can have him. He’s a notorious douche.

  • AnitaMann

That nonsense all dates back to his role in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Because, of course, if you play a gay character then you just have to be gay.

  • reallygoodthings

So much shame, still. He needs to come out and get over himself.

  • redcarpet

Not just that, @AnitaMann: There was a photo swirling around the net a few years ago of him pulling the pants off some twink. I don’t think he’s ever responded to it.

  • jar

@AnitaMann: No, it dates back to his behavior. It is an open secret that Spacey is gay- and a prickly prick.

  • tardis

@reallygoodthings: He’s of the older generation. Maybe coming out is still harder for him.

  • Billy Budd

@redcarpet: He was pinching the boy´s butt, I tell you. It happened in Prague and the boy was a call boy.

  • Cam

Fuck this self hating closet case.

  • Lindoro Almaviva

Oh kevin, if there weren’t pics of you fingering some rent boy in Prague, I would understand. The problem is those pesky little photos that show your hands all over that twink’s ass and butthole.

But, um, yea, if you want us to believe you are straight, by all means.

  • ecdura

As an acquaintance of Darren Criss, I can confirm that Kevin invited Darren up to his penthouse when they both were on Broadway together to try to get in his pants, unsuccessfully. And he apparently has a thing for Asian boys.

  • Billy Budd

Tom Cruise is gay. So is Robert Pattinson. And all my instincts tell me that Johnny Depp is also one of us. I know it in my soul. These closet cases would rather die than admit.

  • Jonny21

@Pistolo: To be fair sir, douchebaggery comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and orientations.

  • charwegl

@Cam: “Let’s let people live their lives and do it the way they want to do it”.- Yep, he sounds like a true closet case. You’re an ass.

  • jwrappaport

Whoa. What is the deal with all the negative posts? Why can’t people just let Kevin be and live his life in private? These allegedly closeted celebrities owe you nothing and have no obligation to come out (assuming they’re even gay). You know nothing about their lives or what they’re feeling inside. Coming out is easier for some of us – myself included. For others, it is a crucible too daunting to even consider facing.

Let them face it in their own way. We’re not them, and we can’t know what they’re going through. For a movement premised on acceptance and equal dignity, we are very quick to turn on people and demand they act just like us. Isn’t that attitude antithetical to very essence of gay equality?

@mz.sam: Actually, House of Cards is very successful. It’s critically acclaimed, widely viewed, and in my judgment, an incredibly well-crafted show that you’re missing out on.

  • Scribe38

@mz.sam: House of cards is sooo good! Robin Wright is awesome on that show and such a diva. There is also gay/bisexual side to the character he plays. Think what you will about Keven, but try the show.

  • GeriHew

Whatever else he may be, Kevin Spacey is a very fine actor.

  • Mezaien

Kevin, you are my MAN. Send them all to suck eggs! I am on your side kisses AdamHomo.

  • biscuit_batter

I worked at a downtown NYC boutique hotel and he was a regular guest. He always checked in with a male companion (single bed suite), and didn’t seem to hide his affection for his mate. We all knew he was gay and he seemed comfortable with it so maybe it’s just to keep his hollywood profile neutral. Who knows but he should just come out. I doubt with his talent it would harm his career at this point.

  • Cam

@charwegl: said…. “@Cam: “Let’s let people live their lives and do it the way they want to do it”.- Yep, he sounds like a true closet case. You’re an ass.”

No, what he does is make it obvious he is ashamed of being gay, and being gay is something shameful and to be hidden because it’s dirty.

If he doesn’t want to be outed, then don’t go around hitting on every waiter in New York and London and then getting pissed when people call you on it.

  • Polaro

His life. Let him live it.

  • JDean

who gives a shit if he’s gay or if he doesn’t want to wear it on his lapel?

  • Cam

Because people like him feed into every right wing commentary about us. The lecherous old man hitting on everything that moves, who also has the good manners to be ashamed of who he is and attacks the gay community and defends the bigots.

He’s like the monkey to the bigots organ grinder.
