LA Gay Bar Flames, Burns, Gone

At least one person received medical attention after popular West Hollywood bar Mickey’s Flaming Gay Bar went up in, well, flames. Officials are still investigating the cause of the not-so-disco inferno.

Firefighters had their hands full with an intense fire that raced through a popular West Hollywood nightclub. The fire was reported at Mickey’s at 8857 W. Santa Monica Blvd., at 4:24 p.m. According to fire officials, one person had to be rescued from the second story of the burning building.

They were transported to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.Mickey’s isn’t the only casualty in this mysterious flame out – a Defamer reader reports that East/West Lounge also suffered some damage.

If only Mickey’s owners had their fire truck riding gay pride hunks on hand. Not that they’d have helped fight the blaze, but they would have made the ugly scene a bit more attractive.
