Lady Gaga Can’t Be Bought By Republicans

In perhaps this week’s least-surprising news comes confirmation that Lady Gaga turned down a million bucks to perform a few songs at the Republican convention last summer. Well, actually the surprise here is that Republicans are fans of the provocative and tireless LGBT advocate.

Still, despite their earlier denials it seems that RNC planners did indeed reach out to the self-proclaimed Mother Monster to perform in Tampa last summer. The Washington Examiner obtained emails that reveal the American Action Group, a conservative organization offered Gaga a cool $1 million to perform at a tent near the convention.

For what it’s worth, RNC spokesman Sean Spicer states that AAN is unaffiliated with the Republican party, and denies any role in trying to hire Gaga.

The statement was released after the party received complaints from conservative groups and numerous donors, as well as criticism from radio host Rush Limbaugh over the effort to get Gaga to provide entertain during the convention.

The “Born This Way” singer is not the only equality-minded entertainer who refused to perform for the RNC. Dolly Parton and Pitbull also declined invitations.

“It’s not true! We were not making transparent attempts to be cool and appear inclusive even though we’re not! We were NOT!”

Every day I grow more and more amazed at how the GOP actually keeps any members at all.

Their systematic attack on LGBT rights, outright [email protected] and yet another round of sheer woman hating, it’s unfathomable how people think this toss is palatable.

Hopefully many, many more defeats for these nutters, can’t wait until we can kick out our right wing nutcase government.

The repugnant Republicans couldn’t even be honest about this – initially they lied and said they never asked her, then they admitted they lied to her and told her it was a concert to honor women in an attempt to trick her into attending and now they admit they DID ask her. They are SO dishonest. No wonder they got an ass kicking in the last election.

      GO HILLARY 2016 !

No, but apparently she can be bought by the fur industry.

I do so like it when obvious provocative posts are ignored, or derided in this case.

@viveutvivas: Do you so-called “animal activists” have to bring up fur in every damn situation? This has nothing to do with fur. Take your hypocritical activism elsewhere.

Imagine her actually saying yes, performing with a bunch of half-naked men, and then donating that $1m to a pro-LGBT organization.

@hf2hvit: Yep, even Lady Gaga has more class and dignity than Elton John.

@hf2hvit: @tjr101: I agree with you both. Elton John is a tired, petty queen, who cares for no one but Elton John.
