“The turning point for me was the gay community,” says Gaga. “I’ve got so many gay fans and they’re so loyal to me and they really lifted me up. They’ll always stand by me and I’ll always stand by them. It’s not an easy thing to create a fanbase. … Being invited to play [the San Francisco Pride rally], that was a real turning point for me as an artist.”
Gaga first came on our radar this time last year, when she closed Logo’s NewNowNext Awards with a get-the-F-out-of-your-seat performance of “Just Dance” — which, we know now, would take over the world’s clubs.

Yes, Lady Gaga is the best artist to happen to pure pop music in a long time. She makes me want to watch her and actually pay for her tour and her music. She is not Madonna. She is Lady Gaga and that is all I need her to be.
