Lady Gaga took her ARTPOP Tease tour to new heights this morning by performing her latest single via satellite from the Land of Oz.
The singer, joined by dancers dressed as characters from the 1939 Judy Garland classic The Wizard of Oz, transformed the stage at Good Morning America today for her first daytime television performance of “Applause” and kicked it off with a sweet rendition of “Over the Rainbow”.
“I live for your applause, shall we make our way to Oz?”, she said, prancing down the yellow brick road before thrashing through a couple Oz-inspired costume changes. “I think it really is an explanation for my entire career so far,” she said in an interview following the performance. “It’s my way of saying that all the outfits and wigs…this is my way of simulating and surviving and my way of getting to Oz and having all my dreams come true.”

That could’ve been done SO much better. Shoddy in the extreme. Oh, what a world!

Actually, she could be a good jazz singer, it has a deep sound to it. I’m no Gaga fan, but I’d rather prefer her voice versus Beyonce’s.

I thought she was supposed to be so original? Dorothy and Oz are really really played out.

Aww. I’ve always like her theatrical side as opposed to her ” freak/monster” vibe! This was pretty good
