Emmy-nominated actress Laverne Cox is one of several brave women appearing in the latest music video from crooner John Legend.
The video for “You & I” is slightly reminiscent of Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful“, an ode to self-acceptance and learning to embrace the “perfect imperfections” vilified by mainstream media.
It features a wide range of diverse women from all walks of life, looking into the mirror and reacting to the image they see. Among them, a pregnant woman, a young girl with Down’s Syndrome, and a sobbing woman examining the scars of a double mastectomy.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

Is this a joke? You have as a spokesman for self-acceptance someone who injected massive doses of hormones into the bloodstream and had healthy tissue surgically altered in order to get a new look? Someone who called upon the labor and time of a small army of medical professionals, thus preventing those professionals from delivering services elsewhere?
Transgender ideology assures us that gender is just a social construct, and that you can’t determine a person’s gender by what is “between their legs”. What matters is what is between their ears. Or so the story goes.
If trans ideology is true, it makes little sense for transgenders to be so greatly concerned about what is between their legs, to the point of spending a small fortune to surgically alter what is there. They should simply be able to say “I am X” and be satisfied, without worrying about hormones and fake breasts and surgery. Laverne Cox would be able to show true body acceptance by just accepting her body the way it was and loving it. But they aren’t satisfied. They can’t be. Because in their hearts, they know that trans ideology is a bucket of lies.

For those who do not wish to watch the entire video, Laverne can be seen @2:18 .
Beautiful video btw..

@Jacob23: You have some SERIOUS issues. Get a life!

@Jacob23: It’s to show all those icky ‘cisgender’ women that with enough plastic surgery, hormone therapy and imagination, they too can have a positive self-image.

@Jacob23: What a sober assessment of this phenomenon!
“Emmy-nominated actress Laverne Cox is one of several brave women appearing in the latest music video from crooner John Legend.”
The fact that a chick with a dick has been called both an actress and a woman is mind-blowing.

@Jacob23: That is the genderqueer/gender nonconforming ideology not the trans one. Transgendered individuals do not say gender is constructed because they firmly identify with and see them self as a gender. Genderqueer people however see it as a construct and see themselves as both/neither. What is between ones legs is a sex organ, gender however is in the brain chemistry. Transsexuals literally have the sex organ of one and the brain structure of the other.

It’s ok to not understand something but do get your facts straight and stop bashing a community that you frankly don’t even know basic facts about.

@Pax: She has had full surgery she has a vagina not a penis.

@Jacob23: Jesus, you’re a dick.

@JJ24: The only problem with your attempt at an explanation is that “transgender” includes genderqueer and gender non-conforming people. So you have 2 contradictory views under one umbrella. Which only illustrates how dishonest trans activists are. They are primarily interested in capturing and co-opting different groups, incorporating them into one fraudulent whole. That the end product is a fake identity – a bunch of distinct groups pretending to be “one people” – doesn’t bother them. Same with LGBT. There is no logical reason to lump T with LGB, but it happens anyway for ideological reasons.

good business decision by JL to ensure everyone gets represented

@Jacob23: No transgender does not include genderqueer, that is it’s own category. The full thing is LGBTQQ which is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Genderqueer, Questioning.
Just because something is similar in your opinion or view does not make it so or included it under the same umbrella.
A transperson will vary quickly tell you genderqueer is not a part of their group.
Maybe when you know the facts you’ll understand and stop being a transphobe.
You sir are living proof that gays can be bigots too.

@JJ24: The research is by no means conclusive. The article even states: “Guillamon isn’t sure whether the four regions are at all associated with notions of gender, but Ivanka Savic-Berglund at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, thinks they might be. ” And: “Guillamon thinks such scans may not help in all cases. [. . .]”People may experience early or late onset of transsexuality and we don’t know what causes this difference.”
The point is that gender constructs and biological determinism are not so easily distinguished. Then again, not sure it matters, as with the causes of homo-, hetero-, and bisexuality. Of all the things in the world, a persons sexual and gender identifications harm no one and should be personal identities and respected as such. It should also be acknowledged that any form of gender expression does reinforce a constructed expression that can vary from era, place, and culture.

@Pax: Get a hobby or better yet get educated because you are ignorant. I just love people like you who sit behind their keyboards and offer analysis on issues that one they have no understanding of and two are completely off base and offensive about their approach. Sadly, I suspect you have no desire to grow in your understanding and will thus live your life in the perpetual glow of ignorance.

@Jacob23: Transgender is an umbrella term that includes all people who do not identify with their biological gender. The particulars of the sub-groupings that fall under the transgender umbrella are not necessarily related. What is it with the assholes like you?
NoelG
@Pax: What is mind-blowing is how judgmental you are in your ignorance.

@Jacob23: “Is this a joke?”
If your comment is the punchline, maybe it is – since your post is ludicrous.
“You have as a spokesman for self-acceptance someone who injected massive doses of hormones into the bloodstream”
Hahahaha, what?
HRT is one pill a day – same as what menopausal women take. It’s not ‘massive’ or ‘injected’. You’re such an ill-informed dropkick. Did you get this information off a bad 70s christian educational video? Or just Fox news?
“and had healthy tissue surgically altered in order to get a new look?”
You mean like millions of people do worldwide for vanity reasons? You’re hilarious; trying to act all sanctimonious about it, as though only transsexuals do this.
“Someone who called upon the labor and time of a small army of medical professionals,”
LOLOLOL WUT?
I have one doctor (my GP who prescribes my pills every 6 months) and I had one surgeon who had two assistants. Where is this ‘small army’ you speak of, moronicles? I suppose 4 people (3 of whom I spent only 5 hours with) is a VERY small army, it’s true.
In which case it takes a small army to cook a meal, drive a bus or deliver mail. Small armies everywhere.
“thus preventing those professionals from delivering services elsewhere?”
The surgeon I saw ONLY does transgender surgeries. Nothing else. That’s his living. No services were ‘prevented’ – if he wasn’t doing trans women, he’d be doing tits, asses and noses for vain homosexuals and b celebs.
You commenting on Queerty is clearly preventing cancer being cured, since instead of being an asshole to trans people, you should be a doctor and finding a cure.
How dare you ‘prevent’ that service.
You monster.
