Lea Michele Ends Silence About Cory Monteith’s Death, Saying He’ll Forever Be In Her Heart

Lea Michele has ended her public silence on the tragic death of her boyfriend and Glee costar Cory Monteith by sending a tweet to thank fans for their love and support and adding that Cory will forever be in her heart.

Michele’s rep issued a statement July 16, which read, “Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”

The 31-year-old actor, who died July 13 of an overdose of heroin and alcohol, was honored by the cast of the popular musical-comedy series at a memorial last week on the Paramount lot where the show is filmed. Michele and series creator Ryan Murphy organized the memorial.

TooFab reports Murphy has revealed that Monteith’s character Finn Hudson won’t be recast, but will pass away on the show.

Glee‘s fifth season is expected to begin production August 5, a week later than originally planned. The series will return on September 26 for three episodes, one being a tribute to Monteith, then will then go on hiatus.
