The Sultan of Brunei just can’t seem to catch a break.
Oh, wait. He’s a billionaire king with way too many luxury cars who probably isn’t even following this whole Beverly Hills Hotel story to begin with. So there’s that.
But the story continues with or without his douchiness.
If you’re just joining us, there’s a call to boycott the Beverly Hills Hotel and all other properties owned by the Sultan, who recently put into place a horrific death penalty for homosexual acts in the tiny nation of Brunei.

Ellen Degeneres, Jay Leno, Kim Kardashian, Stephen Fry, Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson and Sharon Osbourne are among those who’ve leant their voices to cry foul and pledge to spend their money elsewhere.
And now the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center has placed a full page ad in Variety with a message against “sleeping with the Sultan.”
It reads:
“When you stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Hotel Bel-Air, or any of the other Dorchester Collection properties owned by the Sultan of Brunei and his Brunei Investment Agency, you’re funding a regime that could soon start flogging women who exercise the right to choose and stoning LGBT people for being who they are.”
Seems pretty cut and dry to us.
And while nobody is arguing that a boycott is going to damage the Sultan’s bottom line so much that he’ll have no choice but to reconsider his policies, it’s important on a personal level that people know where their money is going if they choose to patronize these hotels.
The ad is targeted at the entertainment industry which has long favored the two L.A. properties for hosting events.

I do not know why the article did not state it but he put into place Sharia Law(which is followed/adopted to certain degrees in Muslim countries)It is Law followed by Muslim countries derived from the Koran. It affects every aspect of a persons life is applied as the main law of the land. It includes rampart misogyny(stoning, murder, rape of women). It is barbaric.

I have only slight qualms about staying at The Beverly Hills Hotel. Why these Hollywood celebrities picked one of the most gay-friendly properties to boycott is a mystery to me. Oh wait, it’s no mystery at all. It just happens to be conveniently located for them to drive to, stop for ten minutes and be photographed in front of.
Yes, the BHH is owned by a holding group of the country of Brunei, but the so-called Sultan couldn’t care less about this boycott and isn’t paying attention. He’s so rich and owns so many properties worldwide this hotel is like 5 cents to him. It’s the employees of the hotel who are suffering.
If it makes you feel good to hurt our friends, go ahead and boycott them. I won’t.

This boycotting of BHH, and related hotels, isn’t going to cause the Sultan 2-cents-worth of grief, and certainly no abatement to his billionaire lifestyle. The gays who provide all the “fabulous-ness” to events, and everyday services, are the losers, in gratuities, commissions, or possibly a steady job.

Our community is finally waking up and ceasing to be the red headed step child of the world. The sultan absolutley knows what is going on with one of his most prominent possessions in the world. These scum purchase properties as a way to feed their ego and “show the world” just how famous and “important” they are………….
By showing this repugnent reprehensive vile pig that we are no longer going to shower his properties with our Gay dollars we are making an important statement. And if we keep up the pressure on all his properties you can be virtually guaranteed things will change……..

No, actually this article is about a country that currently is NOT under Islamic law switching over to it. Nobody ever said that Islamic law wasn’t shitty to gays. This is about letting douchebags like the Sultan that if you go backward into Sharia law it will hurt your bottom line. Which is all he cares about anyway considering his brother is notorious for importing multiple hookers to be his harem and for the lavish alcohol fueled parties he constantly threw.

Already previously the Scharia was the basis of the Family Law in Brunei.And also in Law based on Scharia it is about Interpretation.But this is a clear Step backwards especially for people who are LGBT and women.
I am pretty sure this Cameltoe-Face aka Sultan and his hypocritacal family would fail to the Scharia-Test.
