Prepare to weep. Traitors: The Minorities Who Support Donald Trump is a heart wrenching new documentary short about millennial minorities who supported Trump during the election and the backlash they have received from their peers for doing so.

“I’ve had more Christian Republicans accept me for being gay than I’ve had left-wing people accept me for being a gay conservative,” 32-year-old Tylor laments in the video. “They say that they’re for women, gays, people of color. But what they’re really for is women, gays, people of color who vote Democrat.”
He adds that some people have gone so far as to “scream and call you racist, sexist, homophobic, bigot, transphobic.”

It’s a good thing. A necessary evil. Like it or not, Milo, Douglas Murray, have opened up minds about homosexuality for swathes of the Right; as has Baire White for the trans. Trojan Horses, kinda. I don’t know, they are kind of like dancing monkeys. They don’t open up minds as much as allow the closed minded to THINK they have open minds. If Milos (for example) didn’t say exactly what the regressives expect to hear (that we should be closeted, that we should not have marriage equality…), he would not have a place at the table, or even on the floor to catch the crumbs.

Where is Hillary? oh that’s right she doesn’t care anymore because the election is over no need to pander with the minorities anymore
jorgecruz
Your friends are abandoning you because you are telling them you don’t care about other people that are suffering. You don’t care about children of Mexican immigrants that are being threatened with deportation. You don’t care about people with pre-existing conditions that are being threatened with their healthcare being taken away. You don’t care about women losing the right to determine what happens with their own bodies. You don’t care about young gay couples losing the right to marry in the future. If all these things have to happen before you will start caring about these people, then your friends should dump you. If you really wanted to turnover Washington, you wouldn’t have reelected all these bigoted old white men in the House and the Senate.
monroerob69
I care about secure borders. I care about American jobs. I care about a strong military. What’s the point of having all these rights when Radical Terrorists want to kill us?
Nobody has ever been refused medical treatment due to inability to pay. Why Obummer came up with this Unaffordable Care Act and thought it would work is mind boggling (keep your plan, premiums won’t rise blah blah).
So don’t think it don’t care about ways or even because I voted Republican, there’s a lot more out there than tea dances.
jorgecruz
That is a lie that no one has ever been refused medical treatment because they are unable to pay. Every day people can not get care because either they can’t afford the treatment or their insurance company will not approve the service. You must be unfamiliar with the concept of getting pre-approval before a doctor or hospital will perform tests. Do you know how many medications are not covered by insurance companies? Do you know how much worse it was before the affordable care act? Go to your doctors office tomorrow, ask for an MRI but tell them your insurance won’t cover it and you can’t afford to pay $4000 for the test and let me know if they perform the test. Then go to the pharmacy, tell them you need cholesterol medication but you haven’t met your deductible yet and don’t have the $400 to pay and let me know how many free prescriptions they give you. Do you know how many border patrol agents we had when Obama took office? Do you know how many we have now? How much does our military spend compared to Russia? China? Iran? We spend more than the next 7 largest militaries in the world COMBINED. How much more would you like to spend? What should they do differently to “make it stronger?” It is impossible to debate facts with people if they are uneducated and only regurgitate what they hear on Fox news. And while you are at it, take a history class on the Middle East and learn why those radical terrorists started coming after the US.
dwes09
@monroerob69
The net movement of illegals has been out of this country for several years. And the notion of terrorists being invited in by progressives is an outright lie. So the call for “strong borders” is a way to manipulate you through fear and the encouragement of ignorance.
We HAVE a strong military. We have the strongest military in the world by a long shot. We use it poorly in service of ill considered foreign policy that creartes terrorists. That is all well documented and supported by modern history going back to the dictators we forced on Muslim territories 50+ years ago. What the right wants to do is a little classic kleptocracy: Trump wants military contracts that will benefit him and his friends.
What makes you think a labor secretary who has made his fortune exploiting fast food workers will do anything to create real jobs? Or do anything to maintain safe workplaces? He opposes the raising of the minimum wage, despite real research on successes it has in the economy. Job losses have been mostly due to automation (in fact…those jobs at carrier that have “stayed in the US”; quite a number of them will be preparing for automation that will fairly soon make them obsolete), free market mediated shifts in the kinds of energy we use, and a globalism that no demagogue is going to change with empty rhetoric. But you’ll see. You’ll see soon enough what your foolish vote has wrought.
Yes, people CAN be treated in emergency rooms as you desire the poor to be, but that does not encourage less expensive health maintenance, and drives up the cost of health care to the more fortunate (and clearly not thoughtful) such as you. The ACA did, in fact cause some to lose existing coverage or physicians, but overwhelmingly increased coverage, and enabled 20,000,000 without previous coverage or denied coverage for preexisting conditions to get it back. It had problems, the right would not address than but encouraged people not to sign up so as to assure failure of the ACE in certain ways and certain areas.
The use of the adolescent “Obummer” shows that you are not particularly thoughtful, nor do you care to consider things in the light of actual information. Thus you (assuming you are an actual LGBT person and not one of the hetero trolls who come here to harangue us) vote and take positions that are at cross purposes to your own self interest.
You care about what the regressive fear mongers tell you to care about, and turn a blind eye to the FACT that trump has loaded his administration with the most anti-LGBT folks ever, is still courting the alt-right/white supremacists. So you care about the trumpeted threat of terrorism with no factual support, but ignore the increasing corruption and obvious plutocracy getting ready to loot the middle class for the next 4 years. You will see soon enough wht your foolish vote has wrought (and remember, Trump’s election is a sad artifact of the electoral college system, he lost the popular vote by 5% of the votes. The biggest loser ever of any president to win electorally without a popular win.
mhoffman953
@dwes09
I think you mean “net migration” which is a ridiculous measurement. Net migration is taking the number of Mexican born people who come into the US and subtracting the number of Mexican born people who leave the US. This is a ridiculous stat. You wouldn’t record crime or sexual assaults as “net crime” or “net rape” and say its zero because we offset the amount of crimes committed by the number of crimes not committed. Some of these illegal immigrants will jump back and forth across the border 8 times. The US spends more than $100 billion a year on illegal immigration according to a 2010 ABC News report. Imagine that cost over a 10 year period. Calling for a border wall is not manipulating fears. Mexico has a border wall on its southern border, are they manipulating their people through fear?
Our military is top notch but it includes excessive amounts of wasteful spending. We’ll spend billions on wasteful projects and useless weapons that the generals don’t even want. A lot of the equipment or resources we currently possess are extremely outdated and aren’t putting our military into the 21st century. When Trump talks about making the military the best, he is talking about spending appropriately and not on waste.
You criticize the new labor secretary and claim he “exploits fast food workers”. How? Because he’s a CEO and makes more than them? According to research, the CEO makes roughly between $4 million – $10 million / year so let’s average that and say he makes $7 million. His business employs more than 30,000 workers. Let’s pretend he divides his entire $7 million salary up between his workers. Each worker will get an extra $233 / year before taxes, if we add in management to that, everybody gets even less. Or do you allege he “exploits his workers” because he opposes raising the minimum wage? Raising the minimum wage will simply force many businesses to lay off workers or cut hours. Eventually businesses will offset that cost to the consumer and everything will balance back to where we are now and people will need another wage increase. The economic problem is not the minimum wage but the fact that the dollar doesn’t go far enough. If wages go up, prices will also go up then we’re back to where we are now. Raising the minimum wage is a quick fix to a bigger problem. Citing automation as the reason for job loss is also false. Even though tasks may become automated, there is still a demand for humans to do tasks that aren’t automated. We’ve had automation from machines all throughout history from the printing press, sewing machines, cars, to computers and jobs have grown and economies have boomed. To suddenly cite the sole reason for job loss is because of more sophisticated machines is false. We still need people to build, maintain, and in some cases operate the machines.
The ACA has also been a disaster. Sure it forced citizens to buy a private service but it was promised that the costs would go down as more people bought into it, this hasn’t happened. It also issues a tax penalty to people who can’t afford insurance. How is that helping the poor, when if they make too much to qualify for assistance but make too little to afford healthcare, they have to pay a $600 tax penalty at the end of the year? It’s also forcing business to now offer insurance to their full time employees or pay a penalty. Businesses that cannot afford this regulation, simply cut work hours so workers don’t qualify or cut jobs to afford the burden. The government shouldn’t be forcing anyone to pay a fine if they can’t buy a private service. If the current administration truly wanted to make healthcare affordable they’d allow insurance to be sold over state lines, they’d allow drugs to be imported from Canada as it would be cheaper for the consumer. However, many Democrats have voted against both of these measures but Trump has advocated for both.
All of the above are measures to improve our economic standing from its current position.
ChrisK
We already spend way more then any other nation on the military. 34% of the world total. That was under President Obama btw. Enough of this Republicans are better when it comes to this.

There has always been people like this. There were slaves who cared more for his master than his freedom, Jews supported Germany before all hell broke loose, blacks during civil rights movement who didn’t support the movement. If you are not with me then you are against me. When you support people who don’t support my equal right to marry, too live my life as the next citizen, hell no we have nothing to talk about

I just watched the video and I don’t hear any whining.
They are just stating their case and if the left does not like it…Tough kaka.
When a leftist call me racist, uncle tom, fascist, homophobe, I just laugh and say OK, I guess I am.
They usually just freeze not knowing what to say.
Embrace whatever title they put on you.
dwes09
Why do you insist on the gay and black act? Don’t you think we know you are lying. I cannot imagine a black man quite as stupid as you. I cannot imagine a gay man quite as lame as you.
Look at the posts from most of the liberals and progressives here. We avail ourselves of facts and history. Than look at the likes of you and the others of your ilk. You are children, emotionally undeveloped intellectually weak, ethically bankrupt. You hurl elementary school ephithets, and spout myths with no factual support at all (‘alternate facts’, the regressive name for LIES) “Tough kaka”…Hahahahaha, you infantile twit.
Despite the hardship ahead for the middle and working class, despite the loss of options that gay people, people of color, women, non-Christians, will suffer, it will be amusing to most of us here to contemplate that moment you wake up (unless you are rich enough and insulated enough to care for no-one and nothing), and say “holy shit! what have I done to myself!”
Neonegro
Listen you old bag, you need to shut up if you don’t know how to debate in a civil manner.
Your whole existence revolves around sucking dick and wearing high heels. Don’t assume every person here is like you.
Yes I am black and gay and I don’t need you to tell me what my self interest are.
Start acting your age and make your points without constantly attacking others for their views.
Your behavior only shows that you are a decaying imbecile, cretin and moron.

Simple reality is and always has been that free speech has a price. If you stand on your soap box, however large or small a soap box, there will be people who support you and those who do not. Neo-Negro, formerly known as Oreo, is proud of his political stand. I can respect his courage while disagreeing with his particular stand. Those who support the right wing agenda have every right to do so and to say that they do so. And those of us who disagree with their positions have every right to take pot shots at them whenever and however we wish. Of course they have the same right to respond to us in a similar manner. The one thing neither side has, is the right to be violent towards each other.
Neonegro
Well said Juanjo, but I never used the name Oreo.
dwes09
You may not have used the name, but if you are in fact a “negro”, you fit the description, or worse.
And there is no need to give all opinions respect when they are based on nothing but myth and supposition. Certainly you have your right to freedom from persecution for your speech (what the constitution guarantees), but you have no right not to be excoriated for your callousness, ignorance and foolishness.
Wear those descriptors with pride, you’ve earned them, along with those other faux homosexuals who come here to “straightsplain” to us gay folks.

Liberal tolerance, yo.
dwes09
Liberal tolerance means we are willing to embrace all people and give them the benefit of the doubt. It means we don’t tease and gloat for the joy of doing so or out of a mistaken sense of superiority, like you do. And unlike you we do not rush to lick the butt holes of those who offer us nothing but malice (like a black man trying to join stormfront, or a gay man joining Family Research Council). That is not tolerance, but idiocy. We tolerate you and your ilk, but that does not mean we have any respect or regard. We might if you gave reason to, but you don’t.
Mo Bro
Just because the people in the video are quoted as calling out liberal hypocrisy doesn’t mean they were “dishing it out but couldn’t take it,” it means they were calling out liberal hypocrisy—period.
Sounds to me like the sensitive one here is the author.

“Meanwhile it was Democrats who were KKK members and Democrats who boycotted Lincoln’s inauguration because he wanted to free the slaves.”
The classic clack of critical thought of the regressive! (All caps so perhaps it can penetrate to your tiny brain) YES, IN FACT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY OCCUPIED THE PHILOSOPHICAL NICHE 160 YEARS AGO THAT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OCCUPIES TODAY. BUT THINGS CHANGE, HISTORY IS NOT RELIGION AND IMMUTIBLE AS RELIGION IS. LOOKING AT REALITY AND ACTUAL (AS OPPOSED TO IMAGINARY) HISTORY IT IS CLEAR THAT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY BEGAN MOVING TO THE LEFT AFTER THE CIVIL WAR, AND COMPLETED THAT SHIFT BY THE MIDDLE OF THE 20TH CENTURY WHEN THE SOUTHERN DEMOCRATS ABANDONED THE PARTY FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. IT BECAME, AND STILL IS THE PARTY THAT ATTRACTED RACISTS AND THOSE OPPOSED TO ANY FORM OF SOCIAL PROGRESS. LOOK WHO OPPOSED THE VOTING RIGHTS ACT, LOOK WHICH PARTY HAS SUPPORTED VOTER RESTRICTIONS BASED ON LIES REGARDING VOTER FRAUD. LOOK WHO OPPOSED WOMEN’S RIGHTS.
It is all well documented in history books. That lame reference to the fact that Lincoln was a republican is meaningless in the light of contemporary events. Are you really that dull that you think Lincoln would be a republican if they stood for then what they stand for now!? Dullards!

The fact that we get called “traitors” for having contrary opinions tells it all. The mainstream left have shown themselves to be authoritarians again and again.
I hate to tell you, but people are individuals with individual desires, agency, and rights. Being gay doesn’t make me part of some Queer Borg Collective. People can think for themselves.
Mo Bro
Blasphemy!
(better watch out for the Gaystapo—they won’t likely smile upon your voice of individualism)
mhoffman953
Agreed. It’s as if the Democratic party feels they own gay voters, black voters, latino voters, and female voters. Meanwhile it was Democrats who were KKK members and Democrats who boycotted Lincoln’s inauguration because he wanted to free the slaves.
To shun someone based on political views is not very accepting or tolerant but the “tolerant left” will go wild and throw hissy-fits about how we need more diversity. In actuality, they don’t want diversity, they merely want more group think for their echo chamber. If you don’t agree with them on every issue, they’ll yell out the buzzwords: racist, sexist, xenophobe, homophobe, bigot, misogynist, Hitler, privileged, classist, intolerant, traitor
dwes09
The response is more that we think critically, and value reality. We are incredulous that you base your actions on myth and fear and lies, and vote in ways that do violence aginst us (and yoursleves id you are not lying about being gay or black or whatever).
Please provide examples of “liberal hypocrisy” or “liberal intolerance” that are not simply calling things as they are, or standing up for our (and perhaps your) rights. Are we supposed to hug and congratulate you for voting against our enfranchisement and progress (and perhaps your own if you are not actually straight white trolls)? Are we supposed to laud you for a condescending attitude towards women’s desired for bodily self-determination? Are we supposed to cheer over the failure of our electoral system making a narcissistic con-artist who lost the popular vote by 3,000,000 votes president just because you think he is hot?
None of your ilk were particularly respectful to or honest about the outgoing president, and now you all whine about our response to a man who is one of the most ill prepared and ill suited to govern in our history?
Certainly people can think for themselves, but there is no reason to cut them slack when that involves not thinking at all and making dangerous and foolish choices. If wanting to continue the forward motion of progress i have seen in my 66 years on the earth makes me part of some “queer borg collective” in the eyes of a clueless entitles little snowflake (especially who thinks himself the ruler of shit), so be it!
ChrisK
I love how the conservatives here have no logic to point to other then throwing childish and meaningless insults or just outright lies about conservative history. However, anyone who’s been around long enough knows the real history and future.
mhoffman953
@dwes09
Sure, I can provide many examples of liberal hypocrisy. Here we go:
Many extreme liberals will preach about the freedom of speech, but we know that only pertains to speech they agree with. Anyone who presents an opposing view point, they try to shut down.
Liberals will preach about the 1% and how corporations and the rich are evil by trying to profit from working people, all while they own iPhones, drink coffee at Starbucks, and buy Taylor Swift music. Liberals think its outlandish for a CEO who employees 10,000 employees and makes $100 million in profit to get paid $5 million in salary, but will think its okay that Beyonce makes $50 million.
They preach celebrating diversity, but in actuality they only approve of like minded thought. An example is the Women’s March, where they banned pro-life women from attending and speaking at the event. Seems like they don’t want a diversity of thought in their echo chamber. In college campuses, they’ll advocate for it to be a place of learning and intellectual openness, but they approve of conservative speakers to be assaulted and for safe spaces which exclude intellectual discussion.
They’ll support a woman’s right to kill her baby but then protest when a serial killer is put to death because it is somehow considered inhumane now.
Liberals will also act like they are looking out for women but will support people like Bill Clinton who has raped women and will hurl insults at women who have conservative viewpoints. They’ll applaud JFK even though he cheated on his wife numerous times and was accused of sexual assault. Yet, Donald Trump says something disgusting and liberals will say he’s unfit to be President because of his vulgar language.
Extreme liberals will preach that we need to love and respect all religions, but then will trash Christianity while defending Islam. A muslim murders gay people at an Orlando nightclub in response to Islam and liberals will then defend Islam the very next day. Christians don’t bake a wedding cake for a gay couple and liberals shame their religion.
When Donald Trump said in a presidential debate regarding if he’ll accept the results of the election, he said he would wait until the election actually occurs to judge if it was carried out fairly, the liberals as well as Hillary Clinton said not accepting the results of an election is a threat to democracy. So what do liberals do when they don’t like the results of the election? They boycott the inauguration then start violent riots the day after the election. No liberals complained in 2000 when Al Gore exercised his legal rights to challenge the results of the election, but when Donald Trump says he’ll wait and see, they’re up in arms.
If liberals really cared about a threat to our democratic process from being tampered with then they’d support voter ID laws. Instead they claim these are racist and should not be required. Yet needing an ID to buy a gun, apply for a job, or get approved for a credit card isn’t seen as racist to them. They’ll state that it’s “hard for black people to get an ID”, that in itself is a racist statement.
There was no outrage from liberals from an undercover video was released catching Robert Creamer, a high-level Democratic consultant who visited the White House 342 times during the Obama administration, admit that the DNC and the Clinton campaign paid agitators to incite violence at Trump rallies and staged fake fights between actors. They don’t complain when Joe Biden says he’d like to take Donald Trump “behind the gym” and makes a fist. Yet they’ll complain when Trump says he’d like to punch a violent protester in the face.
Occupy Democrats, a liberal Facebook page, once said “disrespecting your president, while hoping that he fails is not called patriotism, it is called treason” in regards to Obama. Yet the day of the 2016 election, they encouraged violent protest around the USA.
Liberals preach that we need to reduce our carbon footprint, when people like Al Gore or Leonardo DiCaprio live in big mansions which use tons of electricity and fly around in massive private jets.
They’ll even go on about how guns should be banned but think its all right for liberal celebrities or politicians to be protected by multiple armed guards.
Liberals will act as if they’re gay-friendly or trans-friendly, but then will allege that any conservative they don’t like is secretly gay or conservative women might actually be transsexual, as if being gay or transsexual is some type of weakness. Then whenever someone despises America, liberals will ask “why do they hate us?” But when someone despises extreme liberal views, that person must be ignorant, bigoted, or stupid.
I’m not stating my opinions on the various issues listed above but instead am pointing out the liberal hypocrisy that is staggering when you look at it.
You have even demonstrated liberal hypocrisy in your comments above in regards to another comment. Liberals say that judging people by their sexual orientation or race is wrong. Yet you accuse those who have a different viewpoint that you of being “straight white trolls”. Why do you automatically assume those who disagree with you have to be straight or white?
KaiserVonScheiss
The mainstream left are not liberals. They’ve long-since abandoned liberalism.
I am a classical liberal. Hence why I oppose identity politics.
I perfectly understand why someone would not support Trump. If you had told me a year ago that I’d have voted Trump, I’d have called you insane.
The nonsense from the media — constantly calling him racist, sexist, or whatever buzzword — made me realise there’s something really wrong.
I don’t agree with Trump on trade, climate change, immigration. But Hillary was just awful. Trump is far from perfect, but she was the corporate candidate who was supported by Wall St.
Mo Bro
@mhoffman953:
Bravo, my friend. Bra-freaking-vo.
The Tower of Power
Well, Hoffman, tolerance is a two-way street. No one is imprisoning right-wingers for speaking their mind, so we tolerate their speech. When you find yourself in jail for spouting right-wing piffle, then I will have sympathy for you.
The Women’s March was not an event advocating for First Amendment expansion; it was an event advocating for women’s rights, including the right to decide not to be pregnant. It’s understandable they didn’t want activists who want rape babies becoming commonplace in the USA.
I see nothing wrong as a liberal with me using an iPhone or going to Starbucks. I don’t have a problem with large corporations provided they follow the law and pay their fair share of taxes.
Who is going to pay to make America great again if Trump cuts corporate taxes as he promised? Is more of the tax burden going to be shifted onto families instead of corporations?
I see nothing hypocritical with INDIVIDUALS not tolerating speech they don’t like. The First Amendment say Congress cannot pass laws prohibiting free expression, but private schools, websites, organizations, and individuals are not Congress, so they can restrict speech all they want.
Republican hypocrisy on budgeting abounds. They complain about the quality of public education but vote to cut education budgets, which will only make fewer resources available to them. Meanwhile, they voted for 2 long wars while supporting billions in tax cuts that increased the debt by trillions.
mhoffman953
@The Tower of Power
No one is imprisoning left-wingers either for speaking their minds (as long as they aren’t getting violent and damaging property). I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make. My point was that if a conservative speaker holds any type of private event, extreme left-wing liberals will protest the college or place hosting the event to shut it down. Liberals will threaten college deans and want the deans to be removed from their jobs for allowing such an event to take place. That isn’t very tolerant. You do NOT have to accept the opposing view point, but if you support the first amendment then you can tolerate that person speaking to those who want to listen.
In regards to the Women’s March, if it truly was an event to advocate for women’s rights and to showcase strong women, shouldn’t it celebrate ALL women and not just women who agree with their liberal viewpoints? According to the Women’s March website, it was an event to celebrate and advocate the importance of all women (even though the website named every type of woman except for white women and Asian women). Plus, you’re now bringing up a false equivalent by saying women who don’t believe in abortion, suddenly now support rape babies. That is not what many pro-life women advocate. They merely say that an abortion should not be something women do casually. These women were not included in the march which alleges to celebrate ALL women.
Regarding taxation of businesses, you cite many inconsistencies. You see nothing wrong with supporting Apple by buying an iPhone as long as they pay their “fair share” in taxes. Apple paid 0.005% on their global profits according to CNN (http://money.cnn.com/2016/08/30/technology/apple-tax-ruling-numbers/). Is this a fair share? Also, what is your definition of fair share? Saying that they should follow the law and pay their fair share are 2 different narratives. Apple follows the tax law but I’m sure you have no problem with how much they pay in taxes as you still buy their products. More hypocrisy, that is if you truly care about companies paying more in taxes.
In regards to businesses experiencing corporate tax cuts under Trump’s administration, Trump has promised to cut taxes across the board. People earning less than $25,000 / year would pay $0 income tax as he has stated. His view to cut corporate tax is to give big businesses incentive to bring their production facilities back to the US. He has also promised to tax companies who want to ship jobs overseas (something Hillary Clinton supported after winning the primaries). He never said that only the rich would receive tax relief, he has said all Americans would see lower taxes.
Regarding your view that Congress cannot pass laws prohibiting freedom of speech or religion, you are correct they cannot. As far as privately owned schools, websites, and businesses, you are again correct that they have the freedom to restrict speech or expressive activities and not entertain types of expression which do not coincide with their values. HOWEVER, here is where the liberal hypocrisy in your opinion is present again. You state that privately owned businesses have the right to deny people the right to use their service if it doesn’t coincide with their values but I’m sure you would advocate for a privately owned Christian bakery to bake a cake for a gay wedding and if they don’t you’ll picket and protest that business. How can you say that privately owned businesses are free to make their own policies regarding speech and religion (both mentioned in the first amendment) but only when it benefits your views?
Also regarding schools, you mention private schools, what about public colleges? This goes back to my first paragraph, if a public college allows a conservative speaker to visit, why does the left feel they have to protest this event? If you don’t like it then don’t listen to it and allow people to make their own judgment calls after hearing the opposing side of an issue. What gives you the moral high ground to determine what everyone else should see and hear? You seem to be getting TOLERANCE and ACCEPTANCE confused. An individual doesn’t have to accept certain viewpoints but they have no right to tell everyone else what they should and shouldn’t hear.
Mentioning cuts to public education, there are pros and cons to this issue. In 2013, the US spent $620 billion on education (roughly $13,000 / student) and in that same year the US ranked 14 out of 40 countries in education. Japan ranks 2 out of 40 countries on quality of education and student testing but only spends $8,000 / student per year. What correlation do you have that says if we throw more money at the problem, it’ll get better? We should investigate why we spend so much but schools are underperforming versus simply saying they need more money. Then you act as if it was only Republicans who voted for war in the past, but it was actually both Republicans and Democrats who have done this. Hillary Clinton has consistently voted for war. Both of these points are off topic because it seems to be an across the board issue with war mongering politicians. So your last point fails to prove much about a conservative hypocrisy.

I think you might be the sort to sell out your family if you thought it would help you pay lower taxes, advance your career, or give you financial gain. You are a traitor just like Putin’s Pet is a traitor. He sold out the U.S. for power. The entire Republican Party including all those representatives and senators who denounced him and refused to support him are now kissing his ring because political power and authority are more important than democracy and the nation.

Well bless their hearts! Let me wipe these crocodile tears out of my eyes.

I’m not American, but I have lived and worked in America, and I have serious concerns about the direction that this pathological liar and narcissist will do, especially over the next two years. His Speech does not make me like his tone, as he has been baiting the division for at least the past eight years. His Executive Orders and taking down sites that are related to LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS Issues are alarming to me as a gay man. His mockery of the Disabled is repugnant because I have a Disability (Chorea-Acanthocytosis), and his attitude and tactics towards the Scottish are deeply adverse to my Nation and my Ancestors, as I am Clan Angus.
In a few short months his actions and words, even for those that support him, must come as a shock to them, because his discussions, even within his Inaugural Speech, are nothing short of Authoritarian Rule. I’m a Scandinavian Liberal that embraces Hygge, so the drop of Interest Rates that he placed as his first Signature was to overturn the Executive Order signed by Barack Obama is telling of his intentions with the Middle and Lower Class Americans, because that Executive Order saved millions from inevitable Foreclosure. His signature for the start of the complete dismantling of the ACA prior to creating a programme to replace it was not indicative of someone that is looking to “Repeal and Replace” the ACA. This does not help those with Pre-existing Conditions or those that just can not afford the high costs of Co-Pays and Preventative Healthcare. That is placing the Cart before the Horse, and judging by his historical treatment of his employees in the past I do not believe that he will replace this with something else. If you are wealthy, congratulations. You are going to continue and watch the gap between the few and the 99%.
Dropping the Corporate Rate of Taxation, in addition of retaining the generous amounts of Tax Cuts to these privileged few will hit the Middle and Lower Classes into even more despair, and the debts will be shoulder on those that can least afford it.
But that is just a Oxford Law Grad that understands Jurisprudence and History, with a fluency in seven languages. I don’t expect everyone to agree with me, but I am really disgusted at the vitriol lobbed at me. So when I read or hear one more person use the terms “Libtard”, “Faggot”, “Queer”, or “You’re already a worthless ugly queer so why don’t you just killed yourself” lobbed at me, it hurt initially, because I’ve dealt with the division and discrimination on many fronts. Many LGBTQ people, for which I have worked to gain full rights and Equality under the Constitution in the United States, the UK, and with other Nations, has suddenly become a pariah within my own Community.
My Neurological, Genetic Illness is linked to my Great-Grandfather, a Scot that was struck with this Ultra-Rare Neurological Disability roughly around the same time it hit me in late-November 2007. My fiancé broke off our 8-years of relationship and impending marriage, while enjoying what money I had worked for his own happiness. Many people that I have truly loved and cared about, both in the LGBTQ and Straight Communities, have vanished. However, in spite of my exclusivity in being one of 35 recognised cases in the World with this agonising affliction, I don’t want nor need pity. I’m blessed with many that have stood by me throughout this nightmare.
Does it ease the sting? Sometimes. I’m not an ugly man. I’m extremely loyal and loving. I’m still very capable of functioning intimately, sexually, and sensually. And, in spite of the vitriol from both sides of the Atlantic I do not de-friend those with opposing viewpoints, even ones that are as polar opposite as much. I do not accept discrimination in any form, which makes me leery of Religions that promote violence, and this includes Christianity. However you cannot silence my voice nor negate my deeply held concerns by your Government and some of its supporters.
I have friends around the World from travelling to 78 countries. Some of my most reliable and consistent friends here in Oxford are Muslims, and they know that I am gay. I do not hide my sexuality. I have been hurt by many within our Community that have turned their back on me, even in Oxford, where prior to this I was liked by all because of my refusal to accept bigotry in any form. I have stood by friends with HIV/AIDS from the beginning days, where many were shunned when they became ill, and they went from being a source of joy in the LGBTQ Community to being ignored, due to irrational fears.
So now I know my friends are because they are MY family. I’m not turning my back on those that supported Trump, as I must retain compassion and be there when History Repeats Itself and they realise that they were regrettably sold by lies. I understand their perspective, because neither candidate represented the best qualities in Americans. This was ugly, and my greatest concerns are the Extremist Americans that exist. Extremism is not an exclusively Muslim occurrence. America’s largest threats comes from the Alt-Right and those Hate Groups that created that moniker to cloak a dangerous agenda that will turn on them in time. I have to be there for them when they realise the consequences. It would be lovely if I was proved wrong, but I have not seen any positive actions taken by the Executive and Legislative Branches of the Federal Government. I must support their choices because that is Freedom. Freedom allows you to make mistakes, and they must have some reason why they feel this way. I am just very concerned for their futures once this begins to take full effect.
If I’m surprised and decent legislation is approved I will support it. So far I have not seen that, but we’re just in the fifth day. Love each other and remember to love them, even if they disagree, and that is for both political leanings. We must stand together with assuring that America does not lose its constant struggle for Equality under the Law.

You can thank the Obama administration for taking down the websites on the white house website for LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS, etc. as the exiting President’s administration does this when their term is up.
Neville
@ErikO: The Obama administration took down NOTHING of the sort-please stop repeating bullshit you picked up from Breitbart and Faux Noise.

Log Cabin Republicans aren’t that difficult to understand, folks. It’s all about the all mighty dollar for them. They would sell their souls to Satan in a New York nano-second if it meant having their coffers filled with more money than they could spend in 1,000 lifetimes. So of course they would sacrifice their morality, integrity and principles, as well. Why is that a stretch?
ChrisK
Yep. The real Republicans are part of the 1%. The rest are just a bunch of whiny bigots.
flexdoc
Log Cabin republicans have been pariahs in the gay community long before Trump came along. He is just the last straw.
carlos_albuquerque
At least they’ll die a glorious death as traitors
Paco
Rather than whine about it, they should stick to those that are like-minded. If they can’t find many others like themselves within their own marginalized groups, then they should really start to do some self-examination instead of blaming everyone else. The problem isn’t us, it’s you.
Border walls, regressive tax policies that favor the ultra-wealthy who benefit from corporate welfare, normalization of registries of “undesirables” that WILL change and not stay focused on just one group, destruction of the safety net, and anti-LGBT rhetoric enshrined in the party platform, doesn’t appeal to me at all. And I have no use for people that believe in or make excuses for those things.
If they chose to support anti-social beliefs and policies, then they shouldn’t be surprised if they are finding themselves alone.
ChrisK
Anti climate, Anti science, Anti civil rights, Anti worker rights, etc. Boy what an organization to identify with. At least it tells you all you need to know about what a shithead someone is.
Jack Meoff
It seems that republicans the world over share one common trait. They like to take the moral high ground and dictate to others about why they are wrong in their beliefs but when the tables are turned they don’t like it and claim they are being bullied and marginalised. They just can’t see that what they do is exactly the same thing.
Louis
I am so tired of these insensitive boorish republican LGBT members they are always using the same asinine and ridiculous words like victimhood and victim trying to label our rights to fight as equal Americans in this country as being VICTIMS the hell we are we are fighters we are champions we are lovers and we are survivors period.
Some of you need to get over yourselves its not our fault the rest of you actively enabled discrimination and bigotry and intolerance against your lgbt brothers and sisters by supporting a party that has always been known for its intolerances and divisiveness in this country.
I have no empathy for these individuals they gladly throw us under the bus then they get angry when people respond in kind they act like they are the classy ones yet their asinine machismo insensitivity and complete lack of empathy for others who are LGBT as well speaks for itself.
I dont wish them harm not at all I do however wish that they eventually let go of their pretentious elitism and delusional sense of superiority otherwise they will only continue to create division and be ostracized throwing the rest of under the proverbial bus.

No Trump fan is even allowed into my life, much less my bed. I avoid stupid and evil.

There is a lot unpack here. On one hand, there is a concerted effort on behalf of the right to wrap themselves in a sort of “victimhood narrative”. That will deprive critics from, well criticizing them. On the other hand, there stands diversity of opinion (this is good, I get it and I welcome it). We need to have an LGBT presence on both sides of the aisle and we need to cooperate on basic issues (marriage equality, equal pay). Agreement on a set of basics with our LGBT counter parts on the Republican side will not hurt in the long run. However, personally I feel that the business argument of voting for Trump or, Republican in general, is ill-founded, and here is why. Cutting taxes does not work, nor does a dogmatic devotion to “capitalism”. Let’s look at an example, California has a median household income of about $64,000 (ITS DEMOCRATIC AND THEY PAY TAXES), Texas (SAUDI ARABIA WITH COWBOY HATS AND GEESUS) has a median household income of $55,000 and is home to the poorest region in the nation. So, no I do not buy the pro-business Republican argument. The facts just do not add up.

Where are the actual people of color in this Documentary, the clear fact is that every single one of those people have white privilege, and it’s highly doubtful that any of those people have come from a class where they would experience any real hardships what so ever due to their ethnic backgrounds, so they can simply rely on that privilege of being or looking white and fit right into that right wing bubble, and being a token. And pointing to that ethnic background and say “hey look at me, i’m not white but i still voted for donald trump, he represents everyone”.
That’s not reality, How with so much more access to information then previous generations are Millennials dumber?
ChrisK
Great point. They could all pass as white. The fact that they couldn’t find any people of color that looked the part is telling.

It’s hard for me, as a working person, to garner any sympathy for Future Billionaires.

I voted for Trump, and yeah, a lot of my friends were shocked. The alternative was just too suspect, she had too much questionable baggage. She appeared to think she was above it all. Above the law even. But mostly I voted for Trump because I’m Islamophobic and racist. Not randomly. I’ve been repeatedly cat called by Islamo-haters on the streets of London and I don’t want to be harassed in my homeland by some religious fanatic from a throw-back, anti-intellectual religion. That’s one big difference between living in the UK and living in here. You don’t feel it here. It’s like the Jews in Paris. Watch the videos on youtube of Jews walking the streets in Paris. Constant harassment by Islamo-haters. No thanks folks. I’ll take crazy Trump over Hillary just to keep “those people” out of my gayborhood.

Every religion is intolerant at one point or another, this very country (The united Stated of America) was founded on it, and through it’s very bloody history and to this day remains hypocritical of it’s foundations in which it was built. If you voted, good for you, not everyone was or had the right to vote, and even in these past few years those very rights were almost taken away from millions of people by the very party you voted for. lots of blood was spilled for that right too. Do you see the pattern here, because if you don’t there is an issue.
If you want to live in a place where you will live a careless life far from being judged or harassed, buy an island in the middle of no where or get a cabin far in the woods where you don’t have to deal with people. Because there is no civilization that is like that, that isn’t a dictatorship where you have no rights and no say what so ever. But you seem very happy in your hate, and very justified for it. In that i would say grow up and move on. Because these next for years, hell these next few days and weeks, it’s only going to get worst for those marginalized, lower cast people. Because you chose to vote with your hate.
jorgecruz
You realize that in those lily white Republican Christian neighborhoods, they voted for Trump in the hopes that he will keep you out of their neighborhood. Before Obama, we were “those people”.
mikeincleveland
A lot of alt-right trolls have come to this site over the past couple of months to stir up trouble and try and divide everyone. You’re not going to convince them to change their mind- they’re not looking for conversation- just promoting their worldview that the world is a scary, dark place and gays are never given less rights in this country than straight people. So go into it by responding to them with the same idea – defend your ground and move on.

I thought they were just here to boost the Hits so the Site could sell more Advertising?

Here we go with the whining from the Trumpsters. Trumpsters are rotten human beings that support racism, sexism, homophobia and xenophobia. They are fascists. If these skid marks of humanity don’t like the hatred they are feeling, tough.

Just try teasing, you childish snowflake!”

Excuse me, buddy, but YOU’RE the one acting like that here, not anybody else. And the man you’re responding to probably made his bones in the protest movement making sure that your rights were enshrined; what the frak have you don’t that’s just as good except elect a fascist, sexist neocon asshole who hates you and others GLBT’s? Go back to Faux Noise and Breitbart where you belong.

Neville, then you need to go read his posts before sticking your mouth in.
He has been calling me and others names, I just responded.
I don’t give a rat’s ass what he did or did not do for his generation. He does not get a pass at insulting others without a response.
