It’s been awhile.
Trae Crowder, the comedian who happily answers to “Liberal Redneck,” hasn’t posted a video for several months.
Fortunately, he’s back with a caustic new message about Donald Trump just days before Thanksgiving.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
In short, he thinks it’s time for everyone to accept what happened and try to understand why it happened.
“Right now,” says Crowder, “in this moment in this America, do you really feel like [it] matters who’s right and who’s wrong? Cause it don’t.”
What matters right now is who won and who lost. And there ain’t no debating that part, baby. So we can keep shoving our heads up our high horse’s asses all we want, acting like there ain’t shit for us to learn about what just happened, but as long as we do that, we ain’t no better than a climate change denier who gets dickslapped with evidence and goes ‘ah well it was cold on Easter – fuck the grandkids anyway’. We ain’t no better. And as long as we do that we will continue to lose.”
He also offers a few pointers as to how we should negotiate that awkward Thanksgiving dinner conversation with that uppity uncle who supports Trumps.
What’re you gonna do? You’re gonna throw gravy in his stupid old face? Tell him to shove the turkey baster up his ass? That ain’t no way to act. It’s a problem I’d love to have by the way. Both my papaws are dead and gone, all right? Both somewhat racist, both probably would have voted for Trump. Still miss ’em. Still give anything to be able to get drunk on dressing with ’em on Thursday. I loved ’em in spite of that shit. Ain’t that how it’s supposed to work…?”
“Just take a deep breath and remind yourself, we’re all still in this house together. And we all still gotta eat.”

Just gotta say that Trae is on point here. Reform and retooling of the Democratic Party have got to happen and quick to remain competitive. If Trump is successful in pushing his economic agenda to support the renewal of the Rust Belt, Dems may loose those voters for the foreseeable future. I’m confident Democrats can push a more agreesive, progressive agenda that puts people first, rather than the endless cavalcade of celebrities, millionaires and billionaires that propped up HRC for the last year.

*yawn* Another silly rant by a wannabe comedian on youtube.
JessPH
@flybyKnight: You don’t need to reform or retool the Democratic Party. A disastrous Trump administration (and it will definitely be disastrous) is more than enough for Dems to take back control of Congress in two years and the White House in four years.

There is really nothing new to learn from any of this. Nothing has changed, If we look at history we see the same ole same ole. From Susan B Anthony to Gandhi from Dr. M. L King Jr to Nelson Mandela we once again see who the oppressor is. Straight, white men and the their co-dependent women. This election just reminded us that the days of ‘poor white trash’ and the wealthy white men who manipulate them in order to stay in power and control are as alive and well as they were at the time before, during and after the civil war. These uneducated ‘rednecks’ are mad at their plight in life. A plight created from not even being smart enough to use their privilege as white males to get head. Long comes but another rich white man who stokes their fears and hatred , makes promises that he cannot keep and magically the pattern is created. They declare war on all that are unlike them and here we are just like civil war days.with the minorities fearing for their existence. So what’s here to figure out? People haven’t changed. Voting patterns how that. Hat has changed is how we minorities relate to them. We no longer take them laying down. We no longer make it easy for them by cowering in fear and we hit these redneck white men and their co-defendants with the truth that what they are is of their own doing.

The Dems just need to borrow from the GOP playbook and manipulate the voting districts in their favor and maybe do some voter suppression against the red state rural folks. It works for Republicans.

Highly doubt the average male Trump supporter is “uppity” in any way. Poor to lower middle class, rural, inadequately educated, angry, white trash is more like it.
@JessPH: Totally agree. Four years of Trump will be all Democrats need to get out of their complacency and actually vote next time (as long as they don’t try to run Hillary again).

@ErikO: you are just all around unlikable aren’t you?

Unfortunately a lot of Americans do not read or listen to the news. Many who voted for Trump are only now learning about much of this stuff. Many of them voted for Obama twice so they aren’t the backwards folk people want them to be. Some things haven’t changed at all. The majority of Americans support equality and that will only continue to grow so never shrink away from politicians who fail to protect other people’s civil and human rights. Hold them accountable and keep educating the public to hasten progress.

@ErikO: *yawn* A more successful comedian than you, YouTube or not.

in my heart i know he’s right but, sorry, i’m just not there yet.

So what exactly would that mean? Lying to them that their fantasy conspiracy world is real and we can return to the same 1950’s industries and jobs their dad’s and granddad’s had? Its just not going to happen. America produces more than it ever has in its history, it just does it with fewer people due to robots and computers. Lets say we did bring back manufacturing televisions as an example. The workers made $30.00 an hour. Who in the world would be able to buy them? Now, if the American worker would do the job for $2.00 an hour then their product would be competitive in the market, but who is going to work for $2.00 an hour?

The only thing that needs to change is institution of safeguards to prevent the GOP from stealing elections. Gerrymandering, voter suppression, and ballot tampering is what let Trump win. If we don’t get serious about this shit it’s never going to change, and the GOP is going to have a stranglehold on us for a very very long time.
ErikO
@chris_clb614: I’ve never claimed to be a comedian.
@Bromancer7: What about how Hillary stole the nomination from Bernie and the DNC let her?

Good comment.

@ErikO: A rebuttal to your snap judgment: he has appeared on Nightline and was on the post-election edition of Real Time with Bill Maher. Try to look past the ballcap and sleeveless t-shirt. In some of his videos, he talks about his gay uncle, and how that influences his beliefs.
