GLAMBERT GOES POP

LISTEN: Sneak Peek Of Adam Lambert’s Dance-Pop-y New Album, Trespassing, Out May 15

When we last heard from Adam Lambert (check out our exclusive interview), there was no release date set on his album. Well, now there is (May 15th), and we’ve got one-minute previews of four songs, too. The dance-pop-heavy album features collabs with big-name talent like Pharrell Williams, Dr. Luke, Bruno Mars and Sam Sparro. We’re liking Adam’s new direction—less aggressive glam-rock (“Whataya Want From Me?”) and more “come dance with me.” What do y’all think? Trespassing: Click through for three more rockin’ tracks off Lambert’s new album: “Never Close Our Eyes,” “Naked Love,” and “Cuckoo.”

Never Close Our Eyes:

I think the direction suits Adam very well. The snippets and previews all sounds amazing, cannot wait for the album. I am going to miss his glam influences, “If I Had You”, “Fever” and “Sure Fire Winners” were great tracks, but I feel there is a theme and cohesiveness with this record that was slightly missing from his debut. Love Adam and everything he does. May 15th needs to be now!

  • SharonS

Thanks for the snippets. I’m listening to them right now. All four are going to be hits but think Cuckoo should be next single which is coming soon. Then Trespassing if not Cuckoo.

  • Jesse123

I am so excited to get a confirmed release date for Trespassing. Adam is my fav singer in the world! I love all the snippets! My personal favorite is Trespassing…so powerful and tribal! For radio, I think Cuckoo. As I said, I adore all of them! Just Pre-ordered 5 copies to give to friends and family. Thanks for supporting Adam!

  • bambrodon

Like all of them. Looking forward to one of the Lambert co-written songs with a great up-tempo for next single – so I hope for Cuckoo or Trespassing… And glad a release date of May 15th has been set!

  • hiba

so excited for the new album, loved all the snippets but mostly is Cuckoo

Naked Love is ruling my life right now. It makes me feel like it’s summer already.

  • Cam

Be interesting to see if the Adam fans use a posting about him as another excuse to come in here and call us all names and say that none of us understand what Adam has gone though as a gay man.

  • kat23

Cam – Not sure where your comment is coming from…Us Glamberts are very open minded and very much on the side of homosexuals in general and those who have alternative life styles. I frankly find more negative flack from gay men commenting on sites like this then “Adam’s fans.” I have been to two of his concerts and they were amazing…the audience is full of fans that are from all walks of life…all ages…just wonderful. So maybe you need to examine yourself more, because your statement is false in re to us.

LOL!!!! Thank you!!! And right there, in your attempt to prove just how wrong my comment was….you proved my comment. How self righteous, How arrogant….how…..typical.

  • Aric

Can’t wait for Naked Love. Hell, I am just ready for it all.

  • Marei Carr

@Cam: I’m just hear to support the music and what an an amazing album it will be! Adam’s voice is always good but this new direction is going to be phenomenal. I can’t wait to hear the entire album! 🙂

  • Cameron

OK ‘Glamberts’ time to rise above it all! Don’t really know what Cam is talking about but we need to talk about Adam’s music! Let’s show how much he’s taught us about love and acceptance! Love the snippets, LOVE Cuckoo and all of it really. Would love to hear Chokehold as release after a club, dance song. Love you, Cam! *Tip toes off to Glambertland*…

  • Jesse123

All 4 songs are so fantastic/spectacular I don’t know. Trespassing should win Song of the Year. It really is that good. The other 3 are all Radio Hits! Yes, indeedy….This is Adam’s Year!

  • Jesse123

@Cam – Glamberts are so supportive of equality for all. If someone made a homophobic comment at this site, it for sure was not an Adam fan, but someone posing as one to cause trouble. The haters follow all articles about Adam around the web with negativity. Just looking for an opportunity to stir up trouble for Adam with the LGBT community and anyone else for that matter.

Cam- It seems you only came in here to comment on Us Glamberts. You don’t know us and you really should stop judging people without knowing them.I’m just here to say I love Adam’s new music and I loved FYE too. He is so talented and gorgeous. The Trespassing Album is going to be an awesome success!

  • LisaW

Whataya Want From Me is “aggressive Glam-rock”????

ummmm okay well this proves to me that though a writer you are not a music writer nor actually someone that knows the definitions of aggressive nor glam nor rock.

And yeah come dance with me is much better, geez we just dont get enough of that today do we? :/

but much better than being, ya know, aggressive.

  • Cain

The image suits him. The album name isn’t bad for it either. So no complaints on my part. He’s in his lane. Just hope he works with some legendary writers and not the generic ones.

  • Jase

Ok everyone, realize that @Cam is just a troll who post comments solely to start a fight. Just ignore him.

And again, thank you for proving my point and living up to the reputation that Lambert fans have. You all have the reputation as people who are not judgmental rude, and openly attack and insult gays except for Adam Lambert.

Again, Being jerks on a gay blog is not the way to fight that stereotype.

  • SharonS

@Cam: I think you have a huge chip on your shoulder bud so just mind your own business and we will continue to comment on Adam’s music.

  • SharonS

@Cain: Looks like you forgot to read the article. Adam has already worked with legendary songwriters like Pharrell Williams, Bonnie McKee, Sam Sparro, Benny Blanco, Ollie G, Dr. Luke, Bruno Mars, Claude Kelly, BC Jean and many many more. You just haven’t kept up with what he’s been doing this past year.

  • barbls

Cam, In the past there have been some pretty hateful comments about Adam posted here so I am sure what you are referring to is in response to those comments. We his fans love Adam as a whole person and his talent is just incomprehensible. If we appear to be aggressive it is because we have learned we need to be in order to combat the hate of closed minded people who cannot get beyond gay or Adam fitting their norm as a musical artist. I would never presume to tell anyone I know how they feel, unless I too have experienced the same. I hope you will not judge us too harshly. It is our passion to share our love of Adam’s music that brought us here. I am sorry you feel we are trespassing. I guess that is how Adam is sometimes made to feel in the music world. I am absolutely amazed, but not surprised at how great the songs are. They really are shake your ass out of this world. Outlaws of Love is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. They lyrics, melody and Adam’s vocals will touch the coldest heart and melt it. Trespassing is award great. A blend of retro, now and future. Lyrics with attitude. Cuckoo just is crazy cuckoo. Can’t get it out of my head and the dubstep is WOW! As you can see I am loving Adam’s new songs and could go on and on and can’t wait for his album. Would love to hear how others at Queerty feel after listening to the snippets!!

Adam is so creative, musically. I am SO glad to hear he worked some with Pharrell. That is a great musical match. I’ve been dying to hear him work with Timbaland.

  • RBR

@Cam: Such unnecessary conflict guys – why squabble with each other when we all want the same thing – all people to be free to live, love and express how they want. Can’t we just agree on that?

Glamberts are a mixed bunch so I won’t see anything about us as a whole, we’re all different. I think all Glamberts are very supportive of the rights and equality of all people but I acknowledge that some are more educated about the struggles than others. If someone doesn’t quite get it, then just gently educate them, don’t attack them for it. There is so much fear and hatred to overcome, let’s not argue with our allies.

  • martijana

Am, I looove all the songs, I was dancing like crazy when I heard them for the first time !! Fuck yea, love the new and improved Adam :)) But it’s really hard to choose a new single !! :/ I just know he won’t let us down !!!

    ____________

Actually no, what I saw was fans of his coming in here and immediately attacking the gay community because we weren’t apparently big enough fans.

Frankly some of the nastiness I saw reminded me of when the Clay Aiken fans used to come in here. The wording of the attacks was pretty much the same.

  • Jase

@Cam: First of all Cam, I’m not a Lambert fan. But see, unlike you I just keep that to myself. I don’t come on every post he’s mentioned on and post a comment saying “I bet if I said I hate Lambert you are all gonna call me a homophobe!” You are just TRYING to start a fight by getting negative responses (which, btw, is the definition of a TROLL). You are just desperate for attention and looking for a fight – and don’t deny it; for being such a Lambert hater you sure do spend a lot of time on this story to reply to every comment.

Notice all the comments before your first comment were nice, friendly comments. Then YOU turned this bitchy. So you should take your own advice: being jerks on a gay blog does not help our cause. Nor does being a drama queen, trying to intentionally start fights like you do.

  • TLKC

Tresspassing is OTT amazing. Naked Love is hot. The fighting on this thread is boring.

  • DenverBarbie

“Trespassing” deliciously channels the funk of Prince and the vocals of Freddie Mercury, and “Naked Love” has some serious summer hit potential (and mama cannot wait for the moral majority’s outcry over that one- mmm!). I’m doing some fence sitting with the other two tracks, but I bet they’ll grow on me. “Better than I Know Myself” took two or three plays to get my love, but has since gotten 200-300 plays from this laptop.

This Glambert and Queerty local is definitely looking forward for the drop. 😉

    _______________

Actually I like him. His fans though are constantly insulting on here. And you are a liar. Funny how you haven’t commented on other subjects BUT for Lambert…oh yeah, but you aren’t a fan and just HAPPENED to come in here didn’t you? 😉

  • Cain

    @sharonS
Big time writers still give generic material to other talent. I’m talking about legendary writers who are in the background that you never hear of.

  • Shannon1981

@Cam: Do as I am taking to doing. Avoid the articles that mention gay idols. I couldn’t resist last time, and it left a bad enough taste in my mouth not to want a repeat.

  • Jase

@Cam: Wow, you complained about Lambert fans throwing insults AND called me a liar (an insult) at the same time. You’re so smart!

  • ScaryRussianHeather

LMAO. I knew it. I read Cam’s first baiting comment and before replying predicting she’d be throwing out some fan hate and Clay Aiken crap …I thought WAIT read the whole thread and sure enough. Number 26.

And WRONG, @CAM again #30, Lambert’s fans are never insulting on here. Let alone “constantly”.

And I’ve been contributing here for years, initially as SWARM but I changed my name after reading Raja’s life story. So I know every single thread that’s here.

Get over yourself. As I’ve said about 100 times Lambert has done more for LGBT in 5 minutes on tv than any other entertainer in history. And his fans are the employers, employees, mothers, sisters, fathers and brothers, plumbers, chefs, dog walkers, doctors and lawyers of hetero people. Oh snap maybe even know some politicians.

Stay miserable insulting the percentage of people who give a damn while you invent imaginary issues that don’t exist..

Adam Lambert’s fans have contributed over a million dollars to his preferred charities. And while he has selected several LGBT causes he also supports generic charities like Charity Water. He’s currently on his second partnership for Charity Water. Good for him. You want insults? Your trolling sh!stirring doesn’t deserve our money. Happy now?

  • Francis

I have adored Adam since IDOL, and appreciated is incredible voice, his originality, and his unapologetic sexuality. His first album was great, but I want him to have a smash dance floor hit or two, since I’m sick of dancing to Rihanna’s “We Found Love.” Also, I want to see an openly gay pop star make it huge being openly gay. Call me crazy, but that’s what I want.
Gay men need to support other gay performers more than we do. I just got back from an Atlantis cruise, and saw the totally hilarious comedian Jim David. I don’t know why that guy isn’t a huge name. If gay men supported him like they do Margaret Cho, he could be.

Actually my comment was factual. You claimed that you weren’t a fan and just happened to come in here, etc… You were lying. Facts are facts.

  • SharonS

@Cain: Sorry but I don’t understand if a songwriter is legendary I think I would know who they are don’t u think? Plus in today’s music industry in order to be successful with longevity you have to make some compromises. Popular music isn’t the same as it was decades ago. I grew up on Motown, Classic Rock and a bit of everything else. Adam is working with the best in the business right now who have written songs that sell they may not all be legendary yet but they are writing some good songs that seem to appeal to the masses. Adam himself is a phenomenal songwriter but some of his songs were never given a chance. But that’s old news. These new songs on his album will be huge hits as they will appeal to die hard and new fans. I also expect he will win awards for some of these songs he wrote on Trespassing. Time will tell.

  • SharonS

And actually in fairness to Adam and the musicians of today, even back then many of the Motown artists were handed songs and told to sing them. Marvin Gaye and others really had to fight to get any kind of control and a lot of them ended up leaving Motown for other companies!
