So what if Madonna‘s song “Holiday,” released in 1986, rings in your head with the opening lyrics “Holiday, celebrate”? ‘Cause girl is gonna re-up on the whole party theme for her greatest hits collection, and the first single is called, of course, “Celebration.” And yes, it’s a bit more up-tempo than “Holiday.”

The orginal Oakenfold mix I heard although having that generic Oakenfold signature was a great catchy summer tune for dance music lovers like myself. This live mix sounds like sh*t though.

@trickytoro:
I agree. The Oakenfold mix is much better and more appealing if you like to dance. This mix is crap, at least for a first time listen to the song.

its cool
Tommy
I like it. Let’s dance with Queen Esther everyone!
topsyturvy
Uma, actually “Holiday” was on Madonna’s first album (“Madonna”) which was released in 1983. That’s the problem with you kids; you have no sense of history.
faghag
fuck you Jaffy you stupid cunt!
Quack
@faghag: Japhy’s been gone for months, faghag.

@faghag:
That do pig that’ll do.

Once again Queerty sterotypes with a stupid headline. The song is good and will last more than 24 hours. I think I am more likely to be sick of this site in 10 minutes….or should that be 4?
BrianZ
24 hours is being extremely charitable.

I am sorry but I absolutely LOVE this song and can’t stop shaking my money maker to it!
It’s fun and POP and nothing more and exactly the type of happy and feel good song for summer 09!

And I thought Amanda Lepore was awful.
Darling Nikki
MMMMM…it’s just like day old sushi left out on the counter. Yummy.

Noisy background feed-back as Music! Madonna has lost her mind, and musical ability!
Jack
@dontblamemeivotedforhillary: Wait…Madonna had musical ability!?

I love Madonna and my friends do as well. I am from a much younger generation (22 y/o) and she is an Icon in the Gay community. Anyone who does not like her has obviously never been to any of her concerts. Her music crosses any generation and we love the fact that she can re-invent herself everytime she comes out in public.
I’d like to see Britney Spears do the same thing when she is 55 years old. I dare you to watch her live concerts on YouTube,then attempt this ridiculous article against the Queen of Gays.

Good job posting a YouTube video you knew would be yanked within hours, idiots.
This is a great song to dance to, and everyone is saying how it reminds them of why they fell in love with her in the first place.
Bitter Queerty queens.
justin
This sight has become increasingly immature and full of bullshit. There’s really no reason to look at it anymore.

i cant believe that i used to think of queerty as an edgy and intelligent.
with posts like this you prove youre not journalists/opinion makers but a bunch of bitter amateurs.
sad.

OK, we all get it that Queerty has it in for Madonna, but why do they really bother then?? I am a huge fan, but a REAL fan, that menas I can point out when her Madgesty fucks up, and she fucked up with this one. Yeah you can dance to it and yaddah, yaddah… who cares? It’s not that good and will fade. Hopefully, so that people won’t think that Madonna’s like that all the time. As for Queerty: get a fucking life! At least she’s still out there putting out great stuff (even if she fucks up once in a while). Can’t you talk about real and relevant news?? Like… are there any?? If there were, would you care??

this song is GREAT!!! But I like the mixed version used in the video. Deeper bass, more catchy.

Madonna is a cultural pirate, having appropriated the looks and imagery of Marilyn Monroe to further her career. Her songs were made to sound as if they were being sung by a little 11 year old girl. There’s something perverse about hearing an adult woman sounding like an 11 year old girl singing about virginity.
I reckon all this was planned. What I find appalling is the support the gay community gave her through all the years. It’s amazing that gay men will support such cynical – and sleazy – marketing strategies.
