Following last night’s rally (featuring Councilmen Harry Thomas and David Catania), today D.C.’s City Council will vote to — in all likelihood — approved same-sex marriage in a second round of voting, sending the bill to the desk of Mayor Adrian Fenty. You can watch the proceedings here live. We just hope the camera remains zoomed in on Marion Barry.
UPDATE: TNCRM has audio of Barry’s testimony.

He will say, “Dudes marrying other dudes? What are you all on crack, or is that just me?”
Drake
He will praise the Lord for his four (failed) marriages and he will rant about how he always stood with LGBT in the past, but now that he desparately needs the out-of–DC funds from people like Bishop Harry “jack-off” Jackson and his Maryland Church, he needs to change his views.

Does anyone have a clue what time it is planned (Eastern US time), thanks.

Don’t celebrate yet. This still has to get by Congress and it’s hella easy for Congress to block any DC legislation. Even if it doesn’t block the legislation itself it can block the use of any district money to recognize the actual marriages themselves.

@ Fake: Actually, it is not so easy for Congress to block any DC legislation. They’ve only intervened twice. As for blocking DC’s use of funds, just this week Congress lifted appropriations riders that had blocked funds for needle exchange and medical marijuana, among other uses. If they just lifted riders on those very controversial matters, odds are incredibly low that a Democratic Congress would turn around and place a rider regarding marriage equality.
Odds are very strong that DC will keep marriage equality.
