What’s more, some of them have cleared Senate confirmation hearings without being called “militant extremists,” like Sen. Actually it is more then Clinton and Bush combined in 16 years. The Administrations goal was to push EDNA through first with its economic agenda, Gay inc. demanded DADT first look where that got us. Wouldn’t it be nice to have job security and still be this close at getting DADT repealed. But apparently the blow hards not in office know better then the people that are. Handing the keys to the GOP is going to make it more difficult to get legislative change for us. There re-districting power will also be greatly improved making it harder to get non-conservatives elected to state offices in previously more liberal areas. You think you are hurting the president by sitting at home? Think again his poll numbers have skyrocketed to 54%. If the economy improves over the year his prospects in 2012 will be very bright. The only people you are damaging is our community.

Absolutly untrue. HRC wanted ENDA pushed, and if you remember, it was discovered that they said they would give the Administration cover if they didn’t do anything at all for DADT in the forseeable future.

you are so naive. If Dr. King and Lyndon Johnson had waited for people who are very expert politicians to decide the timing, african americans would still be in the back of the bus. Instead, King had the guts to march and make his own timing demands (aided by Dick Gregory and Stokley Carmichael) and Johnson had the guts to physically bully congressmen to make it happen fast, even though he knew the democrats would lose the south for decades (certainly through the present and foreseeable future.
