Today in uplifting relationship news: queer actress and pop star Janelle Monae has revealed her latest consort, the Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o.
Spectators noticed the couple arriving together to the Met Gala this week, and their affectionate stance toward one another. The ladies were spotted holding hands and canoodling at the after party. Video leaked to Instagram–since deleted–also showed the two in an intimate moment, with Lupita caressing Janelle’s face. Ms. Nyong’o also posted several pictures of the two together on her own Instagram account.

Monae came out as queer last year and confirmed that she’s had relationships with men and women. Nyong’o’s romantic interests have remained the subject of speculation, though frequent rumor had her dating her Black Panther co-star Dani Gurira. For the record, Gurira also appeared to hang out with the two ladies at the Met Gala.

Nyong’o shot to the top of the showbiz heap with her Oscar-nabbing work in 12 Years a Slave back in 2012. She has since earned repeated acclaim for her work on the Broadway stage and in films like Us. People named her the most beautiful woman alive in 2014.
Neither Monae nor Nyong’o has made any public comment about their relationship.

This is so awkward! The author doesn’t seem to know who these women are. The photo caption specifically identifies the woman. So the author can’t see, and can’t read. lol

The original blogsite for this rumor seemed to take a few photos and run hog wild with speculation. No surprise there. But they make a beautiful couple, as did the alleged Lupita-Danai coupling, and the real-life Janelle-Tessa Thompson pairing. BTW, Janelle’s “PYNK” is a lesbian anthem for all time.
