They say we look alike. I would have to agree. And I am flattered that this beauty gets confused for me. But model @AdutAkech is in a class and path of her own. I feel a swell of pride and a rush of giddiness every time I see her strut down a runway or cover another powerful brand campaign or magazine. Adut, you are unstoppable and I am cheering on the sidelines for you! My #WomanCrushWednesday #AdutAkech. #Doppelganger #SpotTheDifferencesAndMemorizeThem
Monae came out as queer last year and confirmed that she’s had relationships with men and women. Nyong’o’s romantic interests have remained the subject of speculation, though frequent rumor had her dating her Black Panther co-star Dani Gurira. For the record, Gurira also appeared to hang out with the two ladies at the Met Gala.
Nyong’o shot to the top of the showbiz heap with her Oscar-nabbing work in 12 Years a Slave back in 2012. She has since earned repeated acclaim for her work on the Broadway stage and in films like Us. People named her the most beautiful woman alive in 2014.
Neither Monae nor Nyong’o has made any public comment about their relationship.
