MA Gov. Deval Patrick Wants Lesbian Barbara Lenk On State Supreme Court

Massachusetts’ Gov. Deval Patrick, whose daughter Katherine is a lesbian and came out in 2008, and who last year signed into law an anti-bullying measure is attempting to name the first openly gay person to the State Supreme Court. His nominee is Barbara Lenk, a native New Yorker who married her wife in 2004 when the state legalized it, who currently serves as a senior associate justice on the Appeals Court and is a former Superior Court judge. The announcement was made a presser today, which Lenk attended with her wife and two kids.
