“Same Love” is the newest single by Seattle’s Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, with additional vocals by singer-songwriter Mary Lambert. The duo explains the song is dedicated to the fight for same-sex marriage, as part of the Music 4 Marriage Equality campaign organized by Seattle musicians: “We support civil rights, and hope Washington State voters will approve Referendum 74 and legalize marriage equality.”
Other participants in the Music 4 Marriage Equality campaign include Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, Tegan of Tegan and Sara, Brandi Carlile and Hole’s Patti Schemel.
“Same Love” will appear on the debut album from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Heist, available on iTunes on October 9.
