Taking a cue from her lyric that music making the people come together, after finishing her Rebel Heart tour concert at the Accor Hôtels Arena in Paris, Madonna headed to Place de la République public square to perform a trio of songs to commemorate victims of the November 13 massacre. The singer was in glorious voice as she performed “Ghosttown,” “Imagine” and “Like a Prayer” by candlelight with acoustic accompaniment and son David Banda huddled in close to sing backup. Last month, Madge fought tears during a concert in Stockholm while addressing the audience about the terrorist attack.
Watch her perform the three songs below.

If someone had told me decades ago that, in 2015, Madonna would be using her celebrity as a force for good in the world, while Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston lay dead from drugs, I would have scarecely believed it. Madonna always has been an egotistical bytch, but in the final analysis may end up having a more positive impact on the world than other, nicer celebrities, because she’s a survivor and can spot those exceptional moments where she can make some kind of a difference. Yes, she cynical and manipulative, but sometimes those kinds of people end up doing good inadvertently.

How nice! Cool cat….or….Le chat frais.

Madonna has not kept her house in order. For the last 35 years she has felt free to ridicule and ruthlessly mock the Catholic faith as if there were no consequences. Now haters are finally being seen for who they really are. No better case in point than those who mock Islam today. They are seen as ugly, petty, un-American. The same can be said for Madonna for what she has done. She has sowed the seeds of hatred in the world and that has not been without consequence. This old lady should apologize to all of those she has offended and reparations should be mandated. What she has done is not without consequence.

@o.codone:
I’m ambivalent toward her on the whole but reparations? From Madonna? Gimme a break.

@o.codone: Anyone and everyone should mock the Catholic Church for how brutally hypocritical it is. But then again, you’re nothing more than a republican brownnoser who is a true hater.
SonOfKings
@o.codone: Madonna has been consistent in opposing religious extremists and supporting freedom of thought and expression throughout her life and career.
