Malawi’s Gay Wedding That May, May Not Shock the Nation

There’s no way to tell whether this was Malawi’s first gay wedding, but it’s exciting none the less. What the nuptials between Tiwonge Chimbalanga and Steven Monjeza — in a country where homosexuality is a crime — may represent, however, is the most public same-sex wedding there to date. It also follows a round of gay knot tying in Uganda, which is on the verge of out doing Malawi in punishing gays.
