A Detroit man is accused of raping and robbing two men and carjacking a third all in a single night.
28-year-old Elazar Withers allegedly met all three of his victims on the dating app Jack’d.
Withers’ first victim was a 37-year-old man. The victim told police he was waiting for Withers in his car at 1:40 a.m. last Friday when he says the suspect approached, pointed a gun to his head and ordered him out of the vehicle. The victim obeyed and, after Withers had made off with his car, ran to a nearby gas station to call police.
Withers’ second alleged victim was a 30-year-old man who he met a few hours later, at around 3:45 a.m. The victim told police he was waiting for Withers on the sidewalk when the suspect pulled up, pointed a gun to his head and demanded he get in the car.
“The suspect drove to a secluded area at Reno and Fairmount, where the suspect sexually assaulted and robbed the victim,” Detroit police said in a statement. “The suspect then fled from the location.”
A third victim was attacked a few hours after that, at around 7:20 a.m. He told police that, like the previous victims, he had met Withers on Jack’d. When the suspect showed up at his place, the victim voluntarily got into his vehicle. He was then driven to a secluded area, where he was sexually assaulted and robbed at gunpoint, police said. Withers allegedly stole the man’s iPhone, I.D. and cash.
Police arrested Withers three days later. He is charged with kidnapping, first-degree criminal sexual assault, two counts of second-degree criminal sexual, two counts of armed robbery and felony firearm.
