Man Runs Onto Court, Protests Gay Marriage During French Open Final

On Sunday, the 2013 French Open Final between Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer was interrupted when a man with a flare ran onto the court. The man was reportedly protesting gay marriage, which was recently legalized in the country of France.

The security was swift in taking down the protestor and putting the fire out before any real harm could be done.

Nadal who appeared to be in the path of the protestor quickly resumed play and went on to beat Ferrer in straight sets (6-3, 6-2, 6-3). The win marked Nadal’s eighth French Open title.
