Marc Solomon — the gay marriage activist who I’ve never met but has been described to me as “affable,” “grating,” “capable,” “narcissistic,” and “polarizing” — is now the national campaign director at Freedom to Marry, the group he joined after being pushed out of exiting Equality California, where he arrived as executive director after leading Massachusetts’ MassEquality. You’ll remember Freedom To Marry as one of the only Gay Inc. groups that wasn’t sucking Obama’s nuts since his election.

“Gay, Inc.” has done a pretty good job on getting rid of DADT, the DOMA letter, and promoting gay marriage. Of course, lots of others were working on all this also. But, why always the rants on the major organizations ? Bitching on your blog, Queerty, ain’t activism.

His Prop8 campaign sucked.

@Drake: That was a joke, right?
Aubrey Haltom
@SF Pol: Marc Solomon didn’t join Equality California until 2009 – after Prop 8 passed.
In fact, he left MassEquality to go to California because Prop8 passed – but he wasn’t a part of the original Prop8 campaign.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to when you say “his Prop8 campaign sucked.”
