Marie Osmond volunteers to sing at Trump’s inauguration despite nobody asking her to

Donald Trump has been having a hell of a time finding any singers to perform at his inauguration next Friday. So far, he’s been turned down by Celine Dion, Sir Elton John, Charlotte Church, Moby, Andrea Bocelli, and Rebecca Ferguson. He has an invitation out to the Beach Boys, but they haven’t yet decided whether to accept the gig. In fact, the only confirmed musical act he’s been able to lock down is 16-year-old Jackie Evancho, runner up on America’s Got Talent in 2010.

Enter Marie Osmond.

The 57-year-old singer-turned-doll-designer-turned-self-help-author-turned-Nutrisystem-spokesperson-turned-QVC-saleswoman just volunteered to perform at the ceremony, even though nobody has asked her to.

Speaking to Yahoo Financeshe said: “I think when it comes to our country we need to unite. I think we should all support our president whether we’re happy or sad. This is America.”

She added, “We should come together and I think an Inauguration should be a time to unite, it really should.”

Osmond, who has a lesbian daughter, has released over a 15 albums since the early 1970s, but her best known song remains her 1973 cover of the country pop ballad “Paper Roses.” Her last single to chart was 1995’s “What Kind of Man (Walks on a Woman),” which managed to squeak up to #75 on the US Country music charts.

OK, so it looks like Trump has a little bit of country covered… We wonder what he’s going to do for the second half?
