Pop the bubbly, drop the bass, and hit the big red button that releases two tons of confetti as air horns blast intermittently — a widely popular DJ has come out of the closet.
Felix Jaehn is a German DJ and producer who made his mark on the dance music scene with his remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader.”
In a new interview with the German weekly Die Zeit, the 23-year-old has come out as bisexual.
“Sometimes I was more interested in girls, sometimes more interested in boys,” he said.
Jaehn also says he’s ready to settle down, but maybe he’ll end up wanting to enjoy the whole world-touring openly bisexual DJ thing for a bit. Not. A bad. Gig.
His version of “Cheerleader” topped the charts in 14 countries, from Germany to Denmark to the UK to the US, and has become a staple at weddings, which we can only assume are millennial weddings.
Felix has also produced some music, including this 2015 remake of Rufus and Chaka Kahn’s “Ain’t Nobody,” featuring Jasmine Thompson:
ChrisK
Massively popular. Lol I was thinking on the order of Tiesto or Armin Van Buren.
He must’ve got a clue from Aaron Carter and his last ditch effort for fame.
Danny595
Yes! No makeup. No blue hair. No cross-dressing. No gender deviance. Just a normal bi guy who is succeeding in his field. He’s got a track that hit over 300 million views on YT. Sweet.
johnnymcmxxx
Yeah? Good for him as long as he doesn’t spin shitty EDM for white people on drugs who can’t dance.
Giuseppe
LOL!
miserylovedme24
“His” only hit was a remix of another artist’s song. We have very different definitions of massively popular.
Brian
You read my mind.
Jaxton
Thank goodness he did not identify as “gay” under pressure from the gay identity-pushers of the Left who seem to think that a single same-sex thought or fantasy is sufficient to require by law a declaration of “I’m gay”.
Brian
And the broken record starts to play again.
Hussain-TheCanadian
Do you even know what the “left” stands for Brain? (Rolls eyes).
Also I didn’t know you identified as straight? Is that what you tell your prison daddy when he’s holding you in headlock?
Hussain-TheCanadian
This message is to Jaxton, formerly known as Brain before they banned him I guess.

Good for him. Congratulations, Felix Jaehn. Mazel tov!

I’m 80 years old, but I pray to the god I don’t believe in that I never become as old, bitter and twister as these queens who have to greet every successful young person with a chorus of “Who? I never heard of him. Is that what they call talent nowadays? He must be on his way out and hungry for publicity if magazines are writing articles about him. Why else would he come out as straight or gay or the (nonexistent) “bi”? . 170 million followers on YouTube isn’t MY idea of famous.” Am I really the only one these Church Lady comments piss off?
Hillers
They’ve become so de rigeuer on Queerty, it’s practically a rite of passage. I’m sure Queerty’s contributors have a coupla glasses of wine and read the best ones to each other after work to great mirth.
Brian
Queerty is partially to blame with this one. In no universe was this guy ever a “wildly popular DJ”. If they would stop with the painfully exaggerated headlines, people would stop commenting on the ridiculousness of them.
Aaron
Partly is the strong “America First” bullshit that we can’t seem to stop ourselves from. Apparently if someone isn’t massively popular in the US, they can’t be famous elsewhere. He is a German DJ who was interviewed for a German news weekly, he’s not a nobody. According to Wikipedia, Die Zeit is the most widely read German weekly newspaper with estimated 2 million readers. You know what else has 2 million readers? US Weekly – but I guess if he’s been in that one, Americans would actually think he was famous. 😉
Brian
I don’t think most Americans view Us Weekly as the arbiter of fame in America. Don’t they mostly cover reality show people nowadays?
Hussain-TheCanadian
Bobby what are you doing on this thread baby? This boy isnt the right age for you darling, hes older than 20 (wink).
ChrisK
Yeah, but he looks under age so that’s good enough for Bobby the perv.
Zambos271
Brian, Hussain, and ChrisK…lmao!! That’s too funny!!
baal61
Oh” Kitten! That face I would have never believed it” GRRRL! LOL.
Caligari
Only in a world where people can become famous for even minor talents would this be considered important.
tham
He has a cute face but he’s a bit pugly for being so young…you know how big he’s going to be when he’s 30.
You can think 15 pounds away while eating pizza when you’re 23.
nitejonboy
Wow, shallow much ??
DJRM
Who?
I thought I read “massively popular.”
That would generally mean people are supposed to know who they are.
seaguy
Hey Mr. DJ you are hot, lets go back to my place and I can sit and spin on something else.
FlyingTooFast
I guess we all got a different definition for “massively popular.” If this guy where actually of a “massively popular” caliber, Queerty would probably not use the term and just use his name like they do for Aaron Carter and the like.
crowebobby
Hussain-TheCanadian – Mid-to-late 20’s is fine as long as they are still more boyish (Keanu Reeves) than manly (anyone else whose photo has ever been presented as “hot” on this site or the Advocate’s), though I read both for “the articles” . . . can never get enough “trans” news.
ChrisK – Only in your panic-stricken eyes does he look underage, dear. In any case, “timid gay face” isn’t a “sexual” turn on for me at any age. I realize it’s a gay hanging offence to find any type sexually unappealing, but I’ll risk it. I’ll even go so far as to confess I find Jared Kushner’s face bizarrely appealing every time he appears . . . before I remember who and what he is. I guess the heart just wants what the heart wants. A concept alien to you.
Zambos271
These comments are ruthless!! Carry on!!
