We think the worst part of David Horsey’s reactionary John McCain satire is poor Cindy McCain with the pills…

No, cindy and her pills are one of the BEST parts, except she doesn’t look nearly horrifically-scalpled enough (poor thing looks like she’d shatter if touched by an errant breeze). And mccain looks WAY too young. Love the Constitution in the fire (as if there was anything left of it to burn after bushcheney).
Oh dear, am I being mean-spirited? Too bad; no one else is playing nice, it’s time for the Dems to get in the gutter with everyone else.
CHURCHILL-Y
Got a good semi-smile out of it, but hey good to see that at least they are attempting to do some damage control. I mean some self-absorbed and distanced from reality elitists are bound to find it hilarious but hey to each his/hers own. I’ll say this much if this is the best the Obamatons can come up with then…..Hate to break it to you Obamanoids but it won’t have any impact amongst the population besides it not being extremely humorous it doesn’t rings as much as The New Yorker did too close to the truth, more importantly to a detrimental/destructive truth for this Nation because as bad as things are currently if Barack Hussein takes on the role of President these times will look like a golden period.
Cafe au Lait too late
HA! I said it! I said it! but no, everyone had to go and get their panties in a racial/obama sucks twist!
Cafe au Lait too late
i spoke too soon…

No Cafe, you weren’t the one who spoke too soon. Not by a long shot.

An Other Greek
I find it somewhat subversive that this is supposed to be a response to the NYer cover.
Obama is a great American and certainly not a terrorist.
On the other hand, McCain is one foot in the grave and arguably very close to senility et al.
What I’m saying is that for this to have been a response, it should have been much more outrageous.
IN A SUBVERSIVE WAY, this cartoon partially normalizes the outrageousness of the Obama cover by equating it with something not so far from the truth about McCain… possibly implying that the Obama cover is also not that outrageous…

I agree with “An Other Greek”, this cartoon is close enough to the truth to be a parody. It’s an exagerration of the truth (McCain is old, he’s a Hawk like Cheney and his policies don’t hold the Constitution in respect) whereas the Obama cartoon is hysterical, racist (the joke hinges on his un-Western sounding name and his color) and it is not based on any facts whatsoever…. except that his wife is a gun-toting terrorist.
Mark’s idea of having the abandoned family in there is funny but even still that’s closer to the truth than Obama’s terrorist links.
