Is Britain about to join Spain in cracking down on reparative therapy clinics? Yesterday’s meeting of the British Medical Association saw two-thirds of its member doctors vote to declare ex-gay programs harmful — and recommend authorities should investigate claims of conversion therapy clinics funded by the government’s National Health Service.
But does the vote also mean one-third of Britain’s doctors have no problem with conversion therapy? Some doctors speaking to reporters say it’s still not 100 percent certain that ex-gay treatments cannot work or are even harmful — though reporter Patrick Strudwick would certainly beg to differ.
