The White House just unveiled its official Christmas decorations, which were designed by first lady Melania Trump herself, and they’re even creepier and more nightmarish than last year’s.
We didn’t think that was even possible. But, evidently, it is!

You nailed it! The Obama’s could have put these same decorations up and they would have been hailed as the greatest of art. Melania is trying to put a nice different touch on this and albeit is not my cup of tea, it is an attempt to elevate standard decorations to a new height. It’s a stretch but I admire her creativity. You guys just love to bash Trump and I don’t understand it. He hasn’t done anything to gay people.

I agree that perhaps Melania was going for some sort of sophistication, as she did last year with the much more attractive white copses. But the blood red cones that barely suggest actual conifers (in this case, cedars that would never actually be used for Christmas trees), seem more somber and off putting than festive.
As for “loving to bash Trump”, he makes it very easy. He dismisses the findings of our intelligence services in favor of “the word” of a verifiably corrupt despot who has murdered a journalist. He denies science vetted by his own administration in favor of “his gut” on a topic he clearly knows nothing about. He uses the office of president to further his brand and line his pockets. What’s not to bash?
As for not harming gay people, just wait until the religious freedom restoration acts begin eroding your enfranchisement. Just wait until his court appointees get the chance to undermine your rights as a gay person (if you are one). The position of his appointees on LGBT rights are quite clear. Their judgement will be consistent with that position, and the religious right already is lining up for the chance to do their damage.

Last year’s decorations were “cool”, literally and figuratively, and somewhat festive. This years are creepy, at least the bloody cones are (I have seem few images of the rest, except for the “Be Best” ornaments…and i have never been a fan of hideous grammar). She does not have a “great sense of style” unless you have never been outside of the local mall, or are only referring to how she dresses a good part of the time.
Were I in her position I would have enlisted the help of an event planner/decorator, but perhaps she trusts her “gut” too much as her husband does.

Folks, lets not forget that she is from that part of the world where Vlad the Impaler (the actual person Dracula is based on) is still revered as a king and savior to the descendants of his former subjects and those red trees in the hallway prove it.
