As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media. My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time. We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother’s legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many.”

Please accept my condolences for your mother. Now, let’s cheer never having to hear from the untalented Melissa Rivers ever again. Please.

I am surprised that the corpse of La Joan did not reanimate at the end of the service, sit up, and in typical fashion scream, “Is that all you bitches GOT?!?”

@Ronbo: Do you feel better about yourself, now that you’ve taken a dig at someone who has just lost her mother?

I had a chance to meet her after a show a few years ago, and her humble demeanor was really remarkable given her personality on stage. Despite me being one person out of countless fans that had probably said things to her like, “I love you, you’re comedy has helped me through rough times…” etc, she actually took a few minutes to ask about what I had gone through. After sharing that I had lost my mother a few years prior, I couldn’t believe it when she called me “darling”, gave me a hug, and began asking questions about my mom. I’ll never forget what she said to me after I thanked her for the meet/greet and was visibly resisting the urge to cry…
“Hey kid, if I died in my sleep tonight, I wouldn’t want to run into some random bitch that wanted to torment me for eternity because I was rude to her son.”

PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
Rare instance that one can say about an 81 year old that she passed way too soon…………….
One of the bestest clips of Joan was on Kimmel when he asked her what she wanted Cooper to be. She replied “Gay of course!” She said “I knew Judy Garland” “who else but a Gay would (placing here hands under her chin) ask Grandma tell me all about her :p
