Michael Holtz Thinks He Can Beat The Rest Of Gay Mankind At Mr. Gay World Competition

So the Mr. Gay World competition is coming! You didn’t know this, because you didn’t set an annual Google Calendar reminder, but that’s what we’re here for. The contest, hosted this year in Manila March 9-14, is notable this time around for the inclusion of Mr. Curacao Rupert Arrindell, who we’re told is the Caribbean’s first-ever candidate, and the reigning Mr. Gay USA Michael Holtz, the LA-based Equality California staffer who was named Compete‘s “athlete of the year.’ (He’s reportedly the first U.S. entrant in the competition, but, um, last year Brent Douglas Kuennin was in Oslo representing America.) Now the race is on to see who will receive the crown from last year’s Mr. Gay World winner Charl Van Den Berg — and whether they have more fanciful careers than Mr. Van Den Berg’s porn gigs.

A frosted, air-brushed, plucked, waxed and tweezed himbo does not me represent.

Hera Björk will be performing at the pageant; she’s our cover girl this month and she’s fierce, honey!

  • jeff

He doesn’t work at eqca anymore

  • Compete Sports Media

We’re very proud of Michael and having him represent the US at the Mr. Gay World Competition.
@Rick Gold- It’s actually common for swimmers (which Michael is) to shave their legs, chest, back and sometimes arms to make them faster in the water. He’s raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for marriage equality for through an efforts on both coasts.

  • Todd

    Do not care.

  • andyNYU

this guy used to live in nyc. he’s a major tool and is way into himself. always eager to tell you how cool he is..which in ny, means you’re not that cool at all.

  • Brad

Whats wrong with you bitter queens???????

@ANDYNYU… Sounds to me like you’re just upset because he wouldn’t sleep with you. “No dude, you’re totally not my type” is not someone telling you how cool they are… its just their way of trying to be nice and tell you that they are not going to sleep with you. Get a life.

@TODD… if you dont care, why did you click on the story? Really man? Not only do you click on a story you “dont care” about, but then you take time out of your day to tell the world you “dont care” as if ANYONE “cares” what you care about or not.

@RICK…. Michael’s looks don’t represent me either… but if you had an ounce of any type of a mature thought process you’ll see Michael represents 99.9% of the GLBT community by living his life pushing for equal rights for all.

Anyway, you are all really a bunch of rude, bitter queens who make the community look bad. A positive attitude is much more attractive than people who have nothing better to do than post rude comments on a story.

i used to work with this guy and had to share with the world that he is a total tool. he doesn’t care about the organizations he works for, even charitable ones, he is just out to promote himself. just look at his history of posting about himself- it is always him, him, him. people should know he was actually fired from his last job at EQCA because of his egocentric personality getting in the way of what his real job was supposed to be which was to raise money for a great and necessary charity. he has hurt many people along the way and i hope he is not given the opportunity to do more damage within the GLBT community. please do NOT vote for michael holtz, for anything other that damaging jerk of the year.

I think maybe the comments section of this story should be shut down since people think its alright to post rumors about people. This is possibly slander and it can not be legal. At least for Michael’s sake… they can track down IP addresses if need be.

I sure do feel bad for him getting bashed by a bunch of strangers… not cool.

I knew Michael as a child and ave watched him grow from a confident, caring, successful boy to an incrediblly bright, hands driven young an. He deserves everything he gets, he is the real dea. A parents’ dream.

I went to Highschool with Michael and was in marching band with him. I dont understand why anyone would say such horrible things about him. The people that know him best understand what an awesome guy he is. Jealous bitter queens, indeed!
