Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are at it again.
Last week, the 19 Kids and Counting reality stars made headlines when they launched an impromptu kiss-a-thon on social media, encouraging couples everywhere to post photographs of themselves swapping spit to the Duggar’s Facebook page.
Everything was going fine until gay couples started sharing their kissy photos. The Duggars quickly deleted them. But they were careful to leave up pictures of people making out with Godzilla, Diet Coke, Tide Pods and a 14-year-old cat.
Now, it’s been uncovered that Michelle Duggar has been on a not-so-secret campaign to warn residents of Fayetteville, Arkansas that all transgender people are child predators out to rape little girls.

According to sources, Duggar has enlisted the help of an automated call system to cold call residents. When they pick up the phone, the following creepy message is played:
Hello, this is Michelle Duggar. I’m calling to inform you of some shocking news that would affect the safety of Northwest Arkansas women and children. The Fayetteville City Council is voting on an ordinance this Tuesday night that would allow men–yes, I said men–to use women’s and girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only. I don’t believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls.
Of course, this hardly the first time the Duggar family has tried to squash the rights of LGBT people. Last year, the couple endorsed sodomy-obsessed candidate Ken Cuccinelli for Virginia governor. They also encouraged their oldest son, Josh, to become an antigay activist. And they once embarked on a seven state bus tour to oppose marriage equality.
As a result of Michelle’s latest telephone scheme, an online petition calling for Duggar’s TLC reality show to be cancelled has begun circulating.
“End LGBTQ fear mongering by the Duggars,” the petition reads. “The Duggars have been using their fame to promote discrimination, hate, and fear-mongering against gays and transgendered people. You need to take a stand on the side of justice and cancel their show.”
So far the petition has garnered more than 130,000 signatures.
TLC is not yet issued a response to the petition.

@Trippy: i wouldn’t go that far, the siblings take care of each other and they seem to be reasonably happy, but i agree with the lack of parenting. I doubt they have a close relationship to their children. I remember seeing an episode where Michelle (probably the producers) wanted one-on-one time with her kids. She was playing with a sling shot with one of her sons and it looked so awkward. Neither seemed comfortable with one another. @atticusbennett, i agree, they most likely have a gay and/or lesbian child and i just hope they have the strength to venture out on their own and not spiral down with self hate.

I don’t agree with Duggar having 19 kids but on this point I agree with her. One of the reasons why the Republicans have won the mid-term elections is because of radical and dangerous ideas being propagated in the form of “transgender” access to bathrooms.
It’s time the gay community got real. Associating ourselves with the dangerous and radical aims of transgenders is harmful to the cause of homosexuality.

Please explain exactly what is dangerous. You toss around that word but what do you mean by it?
Also, If the GOP swept because of this, then why was it they were fighting to hold seats in states like Georgia? It isn’t a mandate when you basically were fighting to hold and pick up seats in your own back yard.

I heard the same kind of crap up here in Missoula Montana when we passed the very same ordinance, it ended up pushing our HRC score to 100! Think about that, Missoula Montana so call hickville received a higher score the Las Vegas aka sin city! Last week my mother even called me to ask where she could sign a petition to get the duggars off of TLC.

The more you keep pushing this radical and dangerous trans agenda, the more likely you are to have a Republican President in 2016. Just look at what happened a few weeks ago when the Republicans took the senate.
Trans folks deserve to be treated nicely, just like everybody else. However, they do not have the right to impose their dangerous and radical agenda on rest-rooms.

I think people like the Duggars are crazy and dangerous. They are the classic example of what can manifest when you have been brainwashed into believing ‘ Christian ‘ teachings all your life. These two people meet, get married and breed 19 children!! Sure they’re free to do that, after all it’s a free country and the little blessings can be brought up in the glorious ‘ Christian ‘ faith.

I despise that entire family, and I agree that by having 19 children, each individual child is under-parented. However, we should at least be clear about what Duggar and others are saying about this trans bill before we oppose them.
As I understand it, the position of the bill’s opponents is *not* that transgender people are all predators or that transgender people will attack women or girls. Their concern is that by going from an objective/easily verifiable standard for gender (e.g., penis or vagina) to a subjective/difficult to verify standard (i.e., how I feel inside, or how I choose to identify), it will be impossible to keep males out of private women’s areas. Any cis male could declare himself a transwoman and there would be no legal basis to deny him access. The law would not allow anyone to take note of genitalia, dress, or secondary sex characteristics or to demand a doctor’s note. The only thing that would matter is the unproven, unverifiable declaration of the individual, and any male could declare himself to be a woman.
If safety concerns seem like a contrived fear, consider that this very scenario just happened in Toronto earlier this year. A cis male used a similar “gender identity” law to declare himself a woman in order to gain access to a women’s shelter. The shelter could not demand any proof and could not turn him away. Once inside, he raped 3 women and one 5-year old girl. Google “Christopher Hambrook” for more info. Duggar may be a horrible person and a bad parent, but that doesn’t mean that everything that comes out of her mouth is wrong.

Anyone with eyes who followed the Rick Warren and son’s suicide knows that kid was gay and killed himself because his father pumped so much hatred for who he was into his head that he couldn’t deal anymore. Sad, but true. The same thing will happen here. Statistically speaking, these folks have AT LEAST one gay kid.

That transgender people want the same respect as everyone else to be accepted for who they are and to be given the equal rights that they are promised in the Constitution? OOOOh! Sounds very radical and dangerous to me. And what is the obsession with bathrooms? I’ve never heard of a woman being assaulted by a transgender person in a restroom. When I was in college in the 70s, we had co-ed dorms with co-ed bathrooms. No urinals, but stalls and single showers with 2 curtains. Men and women peed and pooped next to each other, showered and brushed our teeth next to each other. I never heard any complaints and never heard any woman express discomfort. People like you and the Duggars need to relax and focus on real problems instead of panicking about imagined ones.

Jacob23, There wasn’t a source at the time (that I know of) however, the kid did seem to be struggling and thoroughly depressed and it was surmised at the time that he he killed himself due to the message is sham father was preaching against gays. Saddleback man is at it again, injecting his views into the up-coming visit with the Pope. He makes money preaching hate. When we win full equality, they’ll move on to some other marginalized lot. I predict Muslims will be their next bell-ringer-hate-dollars-generator. The Red Scare was a huge hit, then gays, then onto the next vic’. It’s the (bad) Christian way. I do remember thinking at the time that the kid killed himself due to unbearable pressures brought on by this very unwise man.
