The End Is Near

Mike Huckabee Horrified That Gay Couples Are In TV Commercials

Mike Huckabee, erstwhile minister, former Arkansas governor and failed Presidential candidate, loves to appear on TV. He just hates sharing it with the gays. In his latest rant, during an appearance on a Concerned Women for America radio show, the Fox News talking head complained about being forced to take note of the appearance of gay couples on the small screen. And it’s all the fault of marriage equality. Of course.

“[T]this is why the legalization of same-sex marriage is going to be a much bigger issue than just saying we let people love whoever they want to love, that’s not the issue,” Huckabee fumed. “Will it force businesses, of course everyone will say, ‘Oh no people still have their rights,’ but they don’t. And every fear that people had has in fact come true, that this is being forced in textbooks on how marriage is depicted, we’re now even seeing television commercials portraying same-sex couples, that’s something I guess I didn’t expect to see anytime soon.”

Television commercials! Where will it end? Next thing you know they’ll be living next door and there goes the neighborhood.

And thanks for pointing out to us, Mike, that there are bigger issues than love at stake here. There’s the right of business to discriminate. Always good to see Republicans looking out for core principles.
