Mimi Imfurst is a hard-working entertainer and an amazingly-talented drag queen. Although she didn’t get the best edit during her run on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 3 and RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race, she didn’t let that fire burn her. Instead, she turned those challenges into lessons and became a stronger person because of them. These trials, along with others challenges she has overcome, inspired the title of her debut, full-length album, The Fire.

“I’ve been tested by the universe so many times in my life and I refuse to back down,” Mimi shared.

When she was a teen, Mimi was kicked out of her home after she was out-ed to her family by a school employee. “One never truly gets over the experience of having to beg for food, a place to stay, a shower, clean clothes,” Mimi revealed, “I remember longing for someone with an ear willing to listen and a heart to understand what I was going through. Being homeless and LGBTQ was the very first fire I had to walk though.”

The first single released off the album is the title track, “The Fire,” which is a gritty anthem “for anyone who has ever been through hell and back.” Watch the full music video below and pick up a copy of Mimi’s album to hear all 10 inspiration tracks.
