Montana State Rep. Bob Wagner, who went on Anderson Cooper last month to defend his state birther bill, isn’t going to stand by while toxic gay residents soak up all the tax dollars with their HIV. During House Judiciary Committee debate on a bill to remove sodomy from the state’s law books, Wagner welcomed a quack doctor to use his medical knowledge of the 1930s to discuss the ramifications of sexually active gays: “it spreads disease.” Concludes Wagner: Gays having sex “not only does physical harm to the human species, in your opinion, it also does a tremendous amount of economic harm to society as a whole.”

He’s absolutely right. I’ll stop having gay sex, but I’ll happily offer my tax dollars to support all those heteros who were too lazy to use condoms and now have eighteen kids on welfare.

I’m sad to be a Montanan today! @MT GOP…get bent!

With all the guys out there barebacking it’s said to say but he’s right.

There are roughly 10,000,000 adult gay men — if we each pay on average, oh, say, $2,000 a year in taxes to feds, city, state, county. That’s $20 Billion in taxes. There are 1,000,000 people with HIV/AIDS — half gay, half straight. The total cost is somewhere less than $2 billion. So gay guys pay not only for all the HIV/AIDS care in the nation for everyone. We also pay at least an additional $18 Billion in taxes for whatever the man wishes to use it for, including his salary and the state’s lawyers against us. Or is the math wrong? There’s just so many zeros; like this man there in Montana.

I don’t know if your math is wrong, but your variables are Jim. There aren’t “1 million people with HIV/AIDS”. Presuming infection rates have continued at their expected pace since 2008, there are about 1.4 million people with it as of the end of 2010. There also aren’t 10,000,000 gay adult men in this country either. Exit polls indicate that about 4% of Americans self-identify as gay. Presuming that half the population in the US is adult, and half are men, we are left to conclude that amongst a US population of 307,000,000, about 3 million are gay men. You’ve made the mistake that a lot of people on this site make of trying to lowball the gay infection rate by overstating the number of gay men. Instead, you should be asking why homosexuals feel like we have to justify ourselves and our lifestyle on economic grounds. Until we can just come out and say that we deserve equality, we’ll never really have it.
