Shitty Signs

More Lovable Queen of Mean? Yes Please!

Earlier this week, we told you about how comedienne Lisa Lampanelli became our new hero when she turned the tables on the hateful Westboro Baptist Church (not really a church, more like the nutty Phelps clan posing as a church for pr value) by donating (what ultimately became) $50,000 to the Gay Men’s Health Crisis after they protested her recent showcase in Topeka, Kansas. We love that! And we also love the fact that she likes us enough to call into the GayCities/Queerty-sponsored weekly talk show, Swish Edition, with all the inside info.

“Westboro is not a church, it’s a shitty sign making company,” she tells us. And after some of the members literally threatened her physically, Lisa became angry and stuck it to them the best way she could, by donating the money in their name.

Even better news? The self-described Lovable Queen of Mean is on her way to the Great White Way. She and writers from Billy Crystal’s “700 Sundays” are busy writing a one-woman show that will debut soon. That’s a ticket we’ll be happy to pony up the cash for. Based on her book, “Chocolate Please,” Lisa proudly says, “I could be a big gay on Broadway soon,” but she’s certain she’s going to fall and break her cunt, ala Spider-Man. Don’t get that? You need to get out more.

Scott Wallis is co-host of the weekly GayCities/Queerty-sponsored Swish Edition comedy & interview talk show. He loves it when a straight woman calls him a cornholer for the whole world to hear, ’cause he knows it’s all in good fun…and it’s true.
