You’ve seen this man before: it’s Peter Berlin, the model-cum-artist who took the 70s by storm, his penis and unprecendented self-love leading the way.
A documentary about him came out recently, adding to the notoriety and praise of his work, which consists almost exclusively of self-portraits. Some people go ape-shit over him, insisting he pushed gay eroticism into a new, more artistic space. Other people think he’s a man who turned his self-love into cult-figure gold. As gold as his hair.

Not that my penis is extraordinarily large, but I can’t imagine wearing those jodhpurs with a package that huge. What people do in the name of vanity.
I’m sure those nut-huggers of his made mothers on city buses verrrry uncomfortable. But as much as I might hate to admit it, as much of a size/gym queen as I am NOT, I’m definitely tenting at the moment.

Thanks for bringing a bit of gay history to life. I’d always heard of Peter Berlin, but really didn’t know much about him. Believe it or not, Netflix actually carries one of his films! It is now sitting atop my rental queue….
Is it just me, or does Owen Wilson bear a very striking resemblance to Berlin?

Peter Berlin was the companion icon to Bob Mizer’s AMG-and his movies were incredible for the time -soft core to be sure, but very sensuous. He seemed to be a narcissist, but then with that body and equipment it was OK: saying to us all “come and get it, fellas – I’m here for you.” And many of us did. It is interesting to note that in one of hismovies his buddy was a blind lad, which may say something genuine for and about Berlin.
