Morrissey’s Become A Real Drag On Japanese Tour

When a musician tells you he’s “big in Japan,” you can usually take it with a grain of salt. But Morrissey, the gay king of melancholy pop, actually is huge in Japan. He just finished the Japanese leg of his world tour and, as Mozzer fan/Queerty reader Gwen reports, “he sounds great, looks hot, has an amazing setlist and has been greeted very appreciatively by fans, who love his lyrics and music.”

We wonder how the crowds are reacting to Morrissey’s guitarist and co-songwriter, Boz Boorer, who’s been coming out on stage in drag every night. (Moz has introduced him as “Gaynor Tension”) Above is a photo from the April 23 show at Zippo Tokyo.
