Well, it may not be the ideal story to follow this prettiness, but Canadian news sources have reported that Luca Rocco Magnotta—the on-the-lam, ex-porn performer turned alleged gruesome killer—was apprehended at a Berlin Internet cafe.
Magnotta, 29, is suspected of murdering 33-year-old student Jun Lin, molesting the body, chopping it up, possibly eating part of it, and mailing extremities to political party headquarters in Ottawa.
He was also a kitty killer, so he has his own special corner in Hell.
After being placed on Interpol’s Wanted list on Thursday, Magnotta was the subject of an international manhunt that went from from Montreal to Paris and finally the German city.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Thank heavens this psychotic was caught before another victim fell prey to his twisted plans.
Mike
Jesus, Queerty, couldn’t even put “accused” or “suspected” in the title?
EdWoody
@Mike: When he videos himself doing it and posts it online, I don’t think there’s a lot of room for ambiguity.
Rex
Finally queerty is up on the news! 🙂 Good job!
Mike-This guy killed a Chinese student and animals and posted videos of them online. No I have not seen them and I don’t want to but others have.
Lefty
I was sure he was going to kill again as he clearly wanted notoriety and had nothing left to lose.
They’re saying he stayed two nights in Paris with a man who he picked up in a club – the man didn’t know who he was until after he left and the guy saw Magnotta’s picture on the internet (or so he claims). Lucky escape…
Raphael
As a concerned half-Asian gay man, I think this horrific, tragic incident has exposed an unpleasant reality about the self-loathing gay Asian community: they’re so desperate for White meat that they’ll settle for a murdering psychopath. It’s almost like sexual cannibalism in some insects in which the imperative to find a mate is so great that they’re willing give their lives up for it. Hopefully, this heinous crime is the wake-up call that the Gaysian community needs to start loving themselves.
ait10101
Raphael, I think you are way off base.
Apparently someone in the internet cafe in Berlin was reading a newspaper with a picture of the probable killer, and the people in the cafe called the police. I guess he wasn`t as bright as he thought he was.
Karl
God, what an absolute fucking weirdo! Over here in England we have had it all about him in the papers, torturing animals and posting pics of himself…I mean, how this complete lunatic ever be allowed ot go free? apparently the authorities felt he was no danger…nutter, absolute nutter!
billeeboy
@Karl:
No one let him go free – he was never in custody………..
DouggSeven
I’m kinda offended that this story was made with humor (not very good though) and lightness. This is a very evil man and his crimes are disgusting and real. The phrase ‘too soon’ comes to mind.
Robroberts
The ” funniest” thing about all this is how unnatractive he really is — a sour expression and a scrawny under developed body and always wearing enough pancake makeup to supply a whorehouse — he is the absolute pinnacle of self delusion and a symbol of everything wrong with the internet and “fame”.
Franco
It’s “Ottawa” you know, just the capital of that huge country called Canada. On another note, this whole story is sad, and I feel great compassion for the young victim.
Mr. Enemabag Jones
Now he’ll be returned to Canada, where he’ll get a slap on the wrist.
Chris
@ait10101: Oh, it’s better than that. He was apparently surfing the web to read about himself. Anyhow guys like him want to be caught–it’s part of the storyline.
Matt
I agree enema, he will get a slap on the wrist in Canada.
Then again in Canada they allow children and teens to murder people and once they’ve became adults they go out of a juvenile detention center and go back into society with a new name and identification! Talk about fucked up!
Also Canada abolished the death penalty years ago when it should be reserved for psychopaths like this guy Luka.
Chris
@raphael. It is entirely possible that a heinous crime occurred without some therapy based subtext involving some sort of absurd theory about self hate in the Asian Gay community. Your point that the victim here settled for a psychopath, is so ridiculous as to be funny, if it weren’t so sad that you actually believe it.
Have sympathy for the victim and his family, feel anger or disdain for the murderer, don’t try to turn itinto some sort of statement about the Asian community at large, you don’t get to hijack their tragedy for your purposes.
Drew
Raphael-stop projecting your own self loathing about being biracial onto others.
Coop
@Matt: @ Matt and Enema – Clearly that is an overly arrogant statement.
1. It is just stupid to say he will get a slap in the waist, he will go to jail sadly at the expense of Canadians.
2. Our death penalty is gone as we are more enlighten country. There are to many cases were people are killed and then they were found innocent. Perhaps you would prefer we were like Iran, they recently hung for 4 and 2 men prior to that for being gay.
I remind you we are the country that allows are gays to marry, down south in the bible thumping gun toting USA you people are still fighting about it with many of your states dead against it. In our entire country it is a hate crime to beat/attack/ or speak ill of homosexuals. Again in the USA not.
3. As for our youth, we believe in second chances, sometime is works and some times it does not. Clearly proven by the bigot that the USA put into office twice. Well once he lied the first time.
So in closing we have our issues, like most countries and we have our share of scum but the list is much longer down south! I believe someone ate a face in Florida last week!
Jake
This takes cannibal porn into the mainstream!

Mike
Coop you’re an idiot and yeah Canada’s laws about psychopathic and homicidal youth are insane. Do you honestly believe they won’t kill again?
Here in the United States we have laws against hate crimes against LGBT people.
Yes Luka will get a slap on the wrist in Canada, life in prison is too good for scum like him.
Paul
…if he was sent to prison and anally raped with a serrated knife so his inside were sliced up and his bowels fell out he would still get off too easy. I hope the MF gets eradicated.
Kev C
Typical narcisist, gets caught at an internet cafe reading about himself and watching porn. It’s just too easy.
Coop
@Mike: Mike you sound like the usual Red Neck Republican from Texas with your bone head ideas about Canada. Perhaps if you spent less time banging sheep and more time opening a book and your heart maybe you would not be so judgemental. Perhaps your laws for hate crimes can help people like Matthew Shepherd, Oh that’s right he’s dead thanks to narrow minded bigots. Question are those people all dead now? Sometimes life is not fare or just, however I do believe my country is a little more open minded and fair. Unlike the States. Yes, I hate the idea that my tax dollars are going to pay for this piece of shit to stay alive. But I also hate the fact that my tax dollars are used for the USA illegal war looking for cheap gas!
Bailey
but he’s still a hottie!
Jonathan
@Coop: Aaaaand there you go generalizing and looking like a complete fool. Clearly you do not understand USA politics, or understand that the individual states have their own agenda’s and wills. By saying that you are a more enlightened country does not prove your point, only makes you look like a huge tool. Your statements and patriotism seem a bit fanatical and, dare I say, arrogant?
Locked up in jail for life seems like a pretty fair sentence to me. I think death would be a mercy blow for him. Then again, Canadian prisons might be better than American prisons.
jonjon
@Coop: My thoughts exactly.
Sorry Canada’s more compassionate brand of justice doesn’t sit well with pro-execution fundies, but the same attitude that makes so many of us against capital punishment and harsh sentencing for youth also makes us pro-gay marriage, pro public healthcare, pro quality public education, etc. Murder cases are very rare in Canada and we can’t change everything we’ve been doing right just because an occasional anomaly happens. If Americans don’t like it…well, luckily we’re a sovereign nation and how we run ourselves is none of your business.
drums
@Mike: LALALA, I CAN’T HEAR YOUR HATE OVER THE SOUND OF ALL GAY AND LESBIAN CANADIANS HAVING THE LEGAL RIGHT TO MARRY EACH OTHER.
TracyDom
@Raphael
Seriously? This is the conclusion you drew from this whole situation?
We do not know for sure how involved the victim was with this person, or what exactly was their relationship, or whether the victim was even aware of his psychopathic tendencies. All we know was that the victim was brutally murdered and defiled in ways that no one should have to endure. I don’t see how any right-thinking person can just go off on a tangent to impugn the Gaysian community and start pontificating on their perceived lack of self-esteem.
Your argument reminds me of those vile people who blame rape victims for tempting their tormentors by dressing too provocatively.
christopher di crapito
@Bailey: And you’re just as demented as he is!!
Carl
@Matt: Oddly enough, many other countries place the scorn you reserve for Canada for having abolished the barbaric death penalty upon the United States itself, for still keeping the practice around. There have been far, far too many cases of innocent people being executed. PLUS it’s more expensive than keeping someone locked up for the rest of their life! How that works beggars belief.
Now, the death penalty aside, Canada’s leniency in sentencing is a whole more complex subject. This guy – if found guilty – deserves to be locked away until the end of his natural life. And if he happens to kill himself, well that’s just icing on the cake. Maybe a “do not resuscitate” notice on his cell/person.
Carl
I’m glad that the authorities have apprehended this guy before he kills again, if he has – yes, their are videos, but even with that we have a thing called “innocent until proven guilty”. Even though we all *know* he did it, until he is tried in a court of law, he is just a suspect. If he’s found guilty, I hope he spends a good long time behind bars. Preferably ALL of his remaining time on this Earth.
MKisNE
Good news now hopefully we can stop hearing about this guy because it’s grossed me the f–k out.. A lot of media is harping on the fact that he was some kind of internet obsessed narcissist, and while this may be an important insight into his life, he is a murderer and he can never be anything else. Narcissist isn’t even something he can strive to be.
ScaryRussianHeather
@Coop:
USA population is 312 Million.
Our NYC population alone equals 25% of the entire country of Canada.
Speaking of “opening up a book”, we have had hate crimes law since 1968 and it was expanded to include gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability a couple of years ago.Even without “hate crimes law”, a murder is a murder and would have been prosecuted.
Matthew Shepard’s killers were arrested and prosecuted immediately. They got multiple life sentences although the death penalty was considered.
The DEFENSE tried to use the gay panic defense blaming Shepard and THE GOVERNMENT PROSECUTOR did NOT stand for it and proved otherwise. Doesn’t sound to ME that our government is that stupid, as you infer.
So what’s your point?
Conflating Iran killing gay citizens to USA law is just hysterical reach on your part. BTW why are you even on a USA blog? Doesn’t ~enlightened Canada have one that’s good enough for you?
Maybe you need to be focusing on your own country’s shortcomings given the reported rise in Canada’s hate crimes.
http://www.canada.com/life/Hate+crimes+against+gays+doubled+Canada/3155968/story.html
Carl
@Coop: Here in blighty we’re pretty close to you Canadians – the only thing really lacking is marriage (sorry, Civil Partnerships just don’t cut it imo). I still don’t get how, with the shockingly high rate of miscarriages of justice people can still support the death penalty. It’s a barbaric act that should be illegal everywhere. There’s an old saying – “an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind”.
I just hope this guy spends a long, long time in jail. I’m not convinced, at the moment, that he can be rehabilitated. He went way beyond just killing someone – his behaviour indicates severe mental health issues that I doubt could be easily resolved.
ScaryRussianHeather
@coop
BTW how much of your huge tax dollars are being spent on “illegal wars for [USA] cheap gas”?
Careful now, I’m gonna check your answer.
Elmwood Mac
Okay girls break it up. As a Canadian I know for a fact this psycho will never see the light of day again. Even us dimwitted , backwoods, back bacon eatin’ Canadians punish our citizens like this piece of sh@t. Google the names Clifford Olsen or Paul Bernardo for example.
Yes we are very light on those in our country caught with a little weed in their pockets but for those who commit acts like this psycho they won’t be out walking the street in two years.
Coop
@ScaryRussianHeather: @ScaryHeather. First pull your flag out of your ass! Your country is not perfect, nor is mine. The difference is a know it and work towards making it better.
You may have hate laws on the books, but it did not help those in Stonewall, nor those who die in the fires in late 50’s who were left to rote in the windows for a week! (Sorry I do not remember the date or city the entire event was to cruel to keep remembering) Nor Matthew Shepard, as you said those men are still alive!
Yes you have a larger population, we have a larger country. You still have 33 states who refuse to allow gay marriage, our entire country allows it. I believe also some where taking it up the back side is still illegal.
As for your illegal war looking for gas cheap, $1 is to much for us to have given not the mention the lives lost.
I read this blog as I wish to keep informed from all media outlets and then form my own option, not that given to me by a bible thumbing bigot like your past president!
Clearly you are the “A” typical American who believe the world should bow to you and follow you. Had we followed you we would be tits up the way you and the UK are thanks to your threats ” you are either with us or against us” Trillions of dollars in debt, and dead soldiers for what, to prove Bush could finish what Bush senior started?
Hopefully one day you will be a little more tolerate of people the way you expect people to be of you. On a more personal note, Grow up, ” I’ll be checking your answer”. This is not school, and you are not my teacher!
Raymond Saint-Pierre
Can we remember Jun Lin? Can we value the beautiful life lost? And, can we weep for the life wasted in this psychopathic horror? Anything else is unforgiveable! How many who watch and say nothing have a scarred conscience? But, WTFDIK?
christopher di crapito
@Raymond Saint-Pierre: Totally agree. There are always people who come here, especially in threads of this nature, and stear it into a totally unrelated topic. This isn’t about the death penalty. It’s about a life lost. Tout a fait d’accord, Raymond.
Greg
Let’s hope this guy is executed in Canada, he did kill Jun Lin and who knows how many other people?
Jako Nova
Don´t forget that he is still a suspect and his capture is only the first step of the investigation undergoing. There´s the possibility that some else is the actual killer and that Magnotta paid to have some “fun” (I know, very sad and eerie) with a corpse. If Magnotta is the man in that video, he is obvsiouly mentally sick, but I don´t think execution is the answer.
Greg
@Mike:
He admitted to it babe…
