Following White House tradition, President Obama pardoned two turkeys today—flightless foul Cobbler and Gobbler have dodged the dinner table and will live out their years at Mount Vernon.
Commenting on the reprieve, the President gave a shout-out to It Boy statistician Nate Silver:
“For the first time in our history, the winners of the White House turkey pardon were chosen through a highly competitive online vote. And once again, Nate Silver completely nailed it. The guy’s amazing—he predicted these guys would win.”
Now if only Nate could use his powers for something important, like predicting who will win Best Actress at next year’s Oscars.

Way I figure it I should be due an oscar. I’m not picky, don’t need best actor or anything just something too fill up my sparse trophy cabinet. It can take precedence over my only other trophies.
