Legitimately straight men have performed in gay porn for as long as pornography has existed, though many prefer to take the easy road and presume these men are “actually gay” and just lying to themselves.
But the truth is that many gay porn performers are straight, they have girlfriends, and there’s an even larger number of gay men who love watching them simply because they are straight. “Straight guys” have become synonymous with gay porn to the point that many sites are specifically dedicated to only employing allegedly heterosexual men to have sex with other men.
What’s that all about? Why do straight guys do gay porn? Why do gay guys love it so much?
All these questions and more are explored in Straight Guys, a documentary film by Daniel Laurin now playing at the DOC NOW Festival in Toronto. In an effort to identify what makes the “straight guy” porn genre so popular while examining his own relationship with gay porn, Laurin interviews porn historians, porn theorists, porn producers and the performers themselves to find out — he even spent some time with some real, live straight dudes on the set of several ChaosMen films:
Why do some gay men prefer to watch sex between two heterosexual men? Where does this desire come from? Is it innate or is it learned? And why would men who identify as straight choose to perform in gay porn? Straight Guys follows filmmaker Daniel Laurin on his journey to answer these questions and reconcile his own relationship to this type of pornography. Daniel speaks to porn historians, porn theorists, porn producers and the performers themselves.
Straight Guys is a lighthearted look at a very real and pressing set of questions. As children and teenagers get more and more of their information from the Internet, pornography has become an increasingly prevalent source of sexual education. It is an even more influential resource for gay/bisexual/questioning teens, who have very few examples of gay sexuality in mainstream media. This film uses Straight-Guy Porn as an entry point into deeper questions about gay desire in a very straight world.

This actually seems like ana interesting topic to do explore

1) because they are bi, not straight
2) because it pays more than straight porn
Niall
This really isn’t rocket science, gay porn pays about 3-4 times more than straight porn on average, simples.
As to why gays love it, well a lot of gay guys have a weird fetishization of straight guys, like it’s the ultimate case of wanting what you can’t have.
mikehipp
Because men make more money in gay porn than they do in straight porn.
litper
Nasty anti-gay pro-hetero propaganda from 1950s. No such thing as “gay for pay”. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
DjARD
Let’s start off a bit unintellectual:
Bullshit.
There is no such thing as gay for pay. What there is such a thing as is bisexuality and double standards. This is an incredibly easy and obvious conclusion, yet it seems this documentary (and post) ignores this idea. Does this doc ask the question as to why so many female porn stars identify as bisexual and do scenes with other women, and this is wholly accepted? Because it all stems from a common source.
What all of this goes back to is appealing to the comfort of heterosexual identified (both truthfully and non-truthfully) men. In a society that still routinely objectifies women, two women engaging sexually is something that has mass appeal to heterosexual and bisexual men. This is image as a (sexually) positive thing is then fed into the culture, particularly the porn culture, while the opposite – two men, is denied, because it does not stimulate the heterosexual identified male mind.
Why do we not see lesbians who are straight for pay? Because, for the most part, it would deny privilege. And that’s what gay for pay is. Appealing to and preserving privilege. By having a well working system that says “you’re not gay or bi, you’re doing it for the money”, the men who participate can safely still identify as straight, regardless of if actions indicate otherwise.
Please note I’m not saying these men are totally gay – as a bisexual man myself, I have no doubt many of them do have girlfriends and love women. But this fact is not proof of their straightness – instead, it is proof of bisexual erasure, both by the gay and bisexual (identified) men who buy into these sites, and by the bisexual men who participate.
These men are unwilling to identify as bisexual because they conflate bisexuality with meaning they must also date and routinely fuck and seek out sex with other men as well as women – which is a mistake. There’s huge variance. Many of these men may be at an 70% to 30% straight/gay ratio or higher (to put things in simpler terms). But that’s still bisexuality.
Further, they are unwilling to identify as bisexual because the culture – that same girl on girl porn culture – has told them that that is the ideal, but the other is nonexistent, thus it is not a viable identity. There have in fact been a number of instances of gay for pay stars initially identifying as bi to some degree, but then switching to straight as their profile rose (Cliff Jensen, Matt Hughes), and others who have somewhat gone back on being “straight” in the most vague of terms (Barrett Long, Zeb Atlas), with lines like “I’m just me.” (note that there are a few who’ve been openly bisexual; Samuel O’Toole, Titof – but it’s rare, it’s either gay or straight, unsurprisingly.)
It’s an incredibly vicious cycle, and one that only serves to oppress gay, bisexual, and otherwise queer identified men, as well as women of all sexualities. And it only serves to promote and sustain heterosexual superiority and privilege, in addition to aiding mindless consumer capitalism. The gay for pay porn system is something that needs to be completely re-examined and eventually abolished, but I’m afraid things won’t change so long as the root systems of oppression continue to thrive.
Until then, I’ll continue to enjoy the occasional video of a “Straight” guy with a big dick fucking or jerking, because this culture’s gotten to me too.
In closing: Fuck this noise.
IRISHGUY171
They’re straight? Some assumption.
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
I would have a pretty hard time getting hard being with a woman, because I am not straight and have zero interest in having sexual activities on any level with a female………
One would think it works the same way for “straight” guys with Gay guys………..
litper
@DjARD: totally agree, the gay for pay shit must be exterminated
Merv
Of course there’s gay for pay. People have always done things for money they wouldn’t otherwise do. Do people think most female prostitutes would sleep with the gross men they do if they weren’t paid?
Real gay for pay porn (i.e., not gay guys pretending to be straight) is awful. They’re obviously not into it. Who wants to watch a flaccid bottom who can’t wait for it to be over?
Mr. E. Jones
But the truth is that many gay porn performers are straight,
Of course they are. That’s why gay porn sucks today. Add to that straight women directing, and you have nothing worth watching.
Cagnazzo82
The documentary should be about bisexuals who work in the porn industry. Not straight guys.
Sure they have girlfriends… bi dudes are attracted to women, so honestly if you could go that way it’s just easier living your life and being out in the open with a partner of the opposite gender.
But they are still bi, hence they have other needs as well. You get to have your girlfriend, you get to screw dudes on the side… they’re practically having their cake and eating it too. (Plus as others have mentioned gay porn pays exponentially more for men than straight porn does).
All of this should be a no-brainer.
Billy Budd
This situation is very simple to me:
These guys ARE NOT gay. They are bisexuals on the straighter end of the spectrum.
Simple.
End of story.
Lvng1tor
I don’t fantasize over straight guys and don’t find the “gay 4 pay” porn exciting or hot. Then again, I don’t feel the need or have to pay for sex and I like myself.
Stache99
@Merv: Plenty. As a matter of fact the more he acts like he’s not into it the more turned on some guys will get.
enlightenone
@Billy Budd: And what makes them “straighter?” Do you see them doing straight porn more than 60% of their scenes or is there something else that put them in the “straighter” category in your mind?
Billy Budd
@enlightenone: They are on the straighter side of the spectrum because they feel more attracted to the female form than to the male form. That is according to them. Sexuality is a continuum, like Prof. Kinsey proposed a long time ago. People may be MORE attracted to one side than to the other.
robertde
Sexuality is never as cut and dried as most people would like to believe and money is a very powerful motivator for people to do things that they ordinarily would never do.Sex for pay is relatively easy and fast. There are plenty of people making straight porn who are gay or bi,and lots of those women in straight porn have no problem doing girl on girl scenes.Gay men fantasize about all men and ogling a straight man only makes it more challenging and therefore more tantalizing
DarthKitsune
I prefer my gay pornstars to be gay, sure it limits the scenes I’m able to watch, but as porn is a hobby and not my life, I can live with it.
Pix
I knew a lesbian who turned tricks with men (just as I’ve known straight boys who turned tricks with men as well). Granted, that was as a runaway living on the streets rather than in the porn industry but I do know people have sex for money even when it’s against their sexuality (just as many find other means to get by than turning tricks) so it doesn’t seem that hard to imagine, especially if many doing porn have a history of turning tricks before.
And it’s conceivable to me that a lesbian could be comfortable with another lesbian having sex with guys as she wouldn’t feel threatened by that as she would if with other women (though lesbian porn made by men for men is so messed up that the only real fear should be that it inspires her to adopt celibacy).
Plenty of gays and lesbians have gotten into unhappy relationships to please family, society, and/or God and have children from such so some aren’t even doing it for the money.
litper
@Pix: stop defending these bisexuals
Pix
@litper:
I don’t consider being gay or bi a crime so I’m not defending anyone, just saying why I find the concept believable (though I’m sure some who say they’re straight or not). Heck, I know it’s true on the streets. As for those who do porn I’m pretty neutral about that.
Cobalt Blue
Easy to answer! Because they are a bunch of perv whores whose heads are fucked up and as shameless money hungers they do everything ( no matter how low…) to grab money.
iltman
I read an interesting article ref G4P, which basically suggested that many ‘straight’ men in gay porn, that whilst they saw themselves as primarily straight in their personal lives, gay porn enabled them to explore same sex interests in a way that allowed them to keep their sexuality intact. Given that most studies suggest that bi-sexuality is far more prevalent then commonly recognised, I would suggest that most G4P performers are to a greater or lesser extent bi-sexual, then the issue is with a culture and society that stipulates a binary construction of sexuality.
We need to recognise that Bi-sexuality is commonplace, and that bi shaming is one reason why many people feel unable to open themselves to their desires.
litper
@iltman: bi-shaming is a result of most of bisexuals being fucking hypocrites and liars, just like these “straight” guys in gay porn (and some “gay” guys who are actually bi). When bi people will be proud of who they are, the shame will go away!
skylerbound
Honestly though, I think we need to switch the B in LGBT to F for Flexible to be more inclusive.
It’s the perfect umbrella term for – Bisexuals, Pan, Omni, Hetero/Homo-flexible and G4P
loren_1955
Have to chuckle with some of the thoughts. If a man can stick his dick into another man he must be gay. Gay men would never stick their dick into a woman. Shows a very narrow perception of sexuality and human nature. Reminds me of when I came out after divorce 5 years ago, the majority of gay acquaintances decided I could not be gay having three sons. There are so many other factors involved than just libido. Society pressure, peer pressure, family expectations, plus just being young and horny can make an erection to stick into anything, yes? Personally, being gay is not determined by where my dick goes, my sexuality is evidenced by whom I genuinely want to touch, to connect with, and for me that has always been a man. Gay for pay, having talked with a number of performers as Phoenix Pride, I understand and see it for what it is. Men getting paid to entertain and have an orgasm, that’s it, all the rest is fantasy for the rest of us.
Ben Dover
Mostly I like Queerty, but it’s become apparent that certain guys on the Queerty staff are obsessed with straight men (and “straight” men), so they assume that’s a more general gay fetish than it probably is.
DarkZephyr
I loath genuine gay for pay because I prefer porn where both men are totally into it and are having a great time. The fake moans and flacid penises are a turn off. I do believe that SOME gay for pay stars are really gay or bi tho. Mason Wyler initially pretended to be straight and that boy is very much a gay man, he’s not even bi but completely gay. And men like Chris Rockway, Reese Rideout and Paddy O’Brian REALLY do a good job of acting like they are massively into it.
I respect the ones like Samuel and retired star Tommy D who openly identify as what they are. Bisexual.
DarkZephyr
@DarkZephyr: And that would be Samuel O’Toole.
Persa
Both men being gay does not in any way mean that the two performers are both into it and having a great time.
Porn is performance. Two gay men can bave bad sex with each other just as much as any other two people if they aren’t compatible or attracted to each other and not all gay men are attracted to each other.
Porn is work, it’s a job, they are performing on a set with cameramen and directors and makeup people and lights and stopping and starting and repositioning. It’s artificial. It’s not real.
Any two men who are GOOD performers can give the appearance of having the time of their life while they are engaged in a sexual situation for the camera.
The job of a porn actor isn’t just to go into a room and have some good sex while you watch.
The job of a porn actor is to create a fantasy where no matter what he things or feels you BELIEVE he is having good sex. Whether the performers are gay or straight they are acting. That is what they are paid to do.
Just because actual sex is happening in a porn scene doesn’t mean it isn’t as much of a performance as any sex with two actors on it.
And the degree to which the viewers are engaged and taken in with the fantasy and believe what they are viewing in the moment is the degree to which the director and performers have created good porn.
If you are watching a porn scene and you feel like the performers are not into it or they are uncomfortable then you are watching BAD porn with BAD peformers who are not doing their job whether they are gay or straight.
There is some kind of bizarre discourse in the gay community lately that “No straight man would ever put a dick in his mouth or get fucked with a dick ever, ever, no way for no amount of money”
To me that just reeks of some kind of believe that sex with a man is dirty or wrong or bad so much so that no straight man who didn’t like it (and was therefore closeted, not straight) would ever do it even for a ton of money.
I think that point of view is not born out in the real wold and is linked to some deep rooted self-hatred or feelings of inadequacy in our community.
Human beings will do nearly ANYTHING for money. Like, literally anything if they need money badly enough.
It’s interesting that folks can believe that a man would kill another man for money but definitely NOT have sex with one.
vive
Those of you who compare “straight” men having gay sex for pay with straight women having lesbian sex for pay, you are forgetting one important detail:
You can’t fake an erection!
Billy Budd
Persa has some very valid points. I just want to correct him in one point: those guys are actually BI. They become BI the very moment they put a dick in their mouths. They may be BIs on the extreme end of the scale, almost exclusively straight and attracted only to girsl. But they are BI.
Geeker
I refuse to watch any video featuring a gay for pay performer,it just feels creepy and self loathing.
Pix
@vive:
Gay men who are fathers with wives would say otherwise.

Everything can no be “an act”/acted out. A constant erection and orgasm is not an act, it is a physiological response between same-sex attracted males – gay and bi.
pscheck2
I’m a gay man and it is hard for me to believe that any str8 guy would do the ‘low’ with another guy, even for pay! I ‘ve been around for quite a few years and have many str8 friends and all they have on their minds as far as sex is concerned is ‘pussy’ tits and ass’! I have to laugh when the writer assumes that just because these so-called str8 guys have girlfriends, ergo they are str8! (Where the hell has he been all his life, in a bubble?) To enlighten him if he were to go into any gay bar he would probably find at least half of the denizens to have had some sexual relations with females (SO’s, married, divorced, etc) and not least, experimented in having sex with them! I like the response of one hunk (actor) who was accused of being gay: “I am bi, but in truth, I prefer sex with men, they satisfy me sexually more than a female.”
Bryguyf69
As many have pointed out, many open-minded straight men do gay porn simply because it pays more. A lot more. And in the past, straight actors made more money than gay actors in gay porn — especially if they were willing to bottom or swallow. These days, bottoming and swallowing are almost requirements for any actor on Corbin Fisher and Sean Cody, regardless of orientation. My best friend is a very open-minded straight molecular biologist and he nearly worked for Corbin Fisher to pay for grad school. He’s thankful now that it never happened because he’s somewhat recognizable in his field. Another straight acquaintance of mine was approached by a female scout from Sean Cody (or was it Corbin?). Cody often used female scouts to recruit straight models. My then girlfriend also downloaded a form for me but I chickened out. Good thing since I am now an HIV/sexuality researcher with many gay colleagues (and patients) who watch online porn. Not good for the career. And please note that Corbin Fisher may very well have rejected me, which would definitely be the case today. Back then, the studio was aiming for the boy-next-door swimmer’s build. The men are much beefier today.
As an aside, Corbin Fisher (and probably Sean Cody) not only pays well, but long time and fulltime employees also get health insurance with full benefits. That’s why many ex-models, both gay/bi and straight, now work behind the camera.
People who claim that there’s no gay-for-pay are simply ignorant of the industry and sexuality in general. All men, regardless of orientation, can feel the same physical sensations of topping or bottoming. But only gay and bisexual men feel the emotional component. In other words, straight men can do gay porn. And it’s silly to equate male sexuality with the more fluid female sexuality as someone did above.
If you rather not wait for the above documentary, HBO’s Pornocopia had an entire episode on same-sex porn. Interviewees included director, Chi Chi, LaRue who tells why s/he prefers straight actors. We also see some butch Latin actor topping, with his girlfriend critiquing him behind the cameras. Fascinating stuff. I uploaded the show to my YouTube channel, fully expecting it to be flagged nudity. Unfortunately, it was taken down on copyright violation instead.
Finally, some lesbians actually differentiate between gay/lesbian porn and same-sex porn, preferring to call same-sex porn aimed at straight men, “girl-on-girl” porn. I’ve seen some lesbian porn and it’s definitely different from typical girl-on-girl porn. For one thing, at least one woman is generally butcher, and body hair isn’t such a big issue.

@Bryguyf69: Homosexuality is the desire/attraction/pleasured by “same-Sex” sexuality AND/OR emotional attraction/fulfillment! This would be consistent with Kinsey and others to date.
Bryguyf69
@enlightenone: First, I’m not sure what your point is because your fist sentence makes no logical sense. What for example, does “desire…by ‘same-Sex’ sexuality” mean?
Second, I’m not sure why you’re even bringing up Kinsey since his methods and categorizations have long been been replaced. For example, he relied solely on self-reporting, which is wholly unreliable, especially at a time when Human Sexuality was generally unspoken. And his landmark study dealt exclusively with physical reaction, with NO emotional component — which any modern researcher would immediately discredit. Finally, his scale is never used anymore in modern research. Not only are the categories simplistic, but researchers generally prefer something multidimensional like the 2-dimension Klein Grid, where amplitude is also reflected,
When I was doing graduate work in sexuality, one of the things I pointed out that the Kinsey Scale would show that Anti-gay “Reparative” Therapy — especially AVERSION therapy — is successful! But something more sophisticated like the Klein Grid would immediately show why it’s NOT successful. That’s because aversion is quite successful in making one lose gay attraction — BUT IT DOES NOT INCREASE ATTRACTION FOR THE OPPOSITE SEX. So essentially what you end up with is a traumatized individual who had NO libido at all (and often suicidal). That’s hardly a conversion to heterosexuality. Yet the Kinsey Scale has no way to reflect this, and would actually show one moving from a Kinsey 6 (exclusively gay) toward Kinsey 0 (exclusively hetero) — in other words, a successful conversion. The Klein Grid, and other more modern scales, do capture other dimensions, showing that a loss of gay activities or desire does NOT mean an increase toward anything heterosexual.
In short, the fact that you even mention Kinsey shows that you don’t know research “to date.” The bottom line is that what I wrote is indeed what contemporary research reflects, namely, that homosexuality/bisexuality/heterosexuality NECESSARILY has an emotional component. If the sex is merely physical — whether for money, self-protection or just an orgasm — then it’s not homosexuality. Just as masturbation is neither gay nor straight. Sexologists and agencies like the CDC have labeled those men, “Men Who Have Sex with Men” or “MSM.” Look it up. That’s to differentiate them from true homosexuals, who have an emotional attraction to men.
pscheck2
I won’t begin to argue the points you bring up because it is backed up by awesome research! However, since I am intellectually ‘challenged’ I will rely on my own empirical experiences. To say that str8 guys do gay porn because it pays more, is a weak defense of their so-called str8’ness. I must be living in another world because all the str8 guys I have known would be repulsed by any attempt of another guy (str8) wanting to have sex with him!My contention is that these so-called str8 porn actors have a latent desire to have sex with a man to appease that part of his persona that can be classified as homosexual. Also, it seems that some of the posters are going along with the idea that they have to be str8 because they have gf’s, SO, and are married or are engaged.Ha! I have had and do now, have gay friends who have had str8 relationships at some time in their lives, but at some point, decided they were happiest when they owned up to the fact that they are gay! So, these gay porn , str8 having gfs means nothing!
Bryguyf69
@pscheck2: Why? It’s easy money. And with the bad economy, there are often no better alternatives. A good example was high school senior, Robert Marucci, who did gay porn to save his mother’s home from foreclosure. He worked for Sean Cody as “Noel.” And it wasn’t just solo stuff; he bottomed like a pro. He was later suspended, just months from graduation. His mom said that officials told her that it was a result of his porn work. Marucci received wide support from his classmates, in no small part due to his motives for doing gay porn. So yes, if my home was about to be foreclosed and there is no other source of money — and I’m much more attractive — I’d consider gay porn. Others like Dakota Cochrane did gay porn to pay for college. According to published reports, he earned about $90,000.

@enlightenone: Actually no. In most modern studies on male sexual orientation, it is recognized that uncomfortable nervousness alone can cause an erection. That’s why nervousness was controlled for in Adams et al’s landmark study showing homophobes often have latent homosexual tendencies. As for an orgasm, that can be a purely physiological reaction. My partner has seen more than a few unintentional orgasms/ejaculations while performing rectal exams. One gay patient even warned her before the exam. Since he was gay, he clearly wasn’t sexually aroused by her.

@Bryguyf69: I didn’t choose to do a “cut and paste” and I tend to engage in this activity late in the night! First statement was a bit of a typo. Should have read: Homosexuality is the desire/attraction/ “pleasure” with the “same-sex” AND/OR emotional attraction/fulfillment with the same-sex! This would be consistent with Kinsey and OTHERS to date. I only mention Kinsey because many still do, just as Freud gets many props though his work is the result of disturbed subjects and the societal times. Given what we know today, I would put both in a time capsule with the Bible! MSM is an umbrella category like Transgender.
A male having sex with another male to orgasm is NOT the same as masturbating! There are psychological “hurdles” a heterosexual male process pre, during, and post sexual encounter/engagement.
My knowledge of sexuality, particularly male sexuality in all its expressions is based on my research during and post-graduate school for my master’s thesis, being a licensed therapist for the past 10 years, and as an adjunct professor teaching master’s-level psychology with an emphasis in Gender and Sexual Orientation Studies.
Some of my personal experiences that inform my expertise comes from raising a transgender child who is now a well-adjusted, successful adult, as well as presenting workshops and trainings to professional psychological associations and colleges and universities throughout Southern California.

Cutting to the chase of your post are you saying that a str8 guy can have sex with another guy as long as he does not get any gratification from the act and does not experience an emotional response, either? If so, I musst be , at times,str8 because I have had zilche gratification and certainly, no emotional response with some of my tricks!(obviously, I’m being scarcastic ).

@Bryguyf69: You know it’s commendable that a young man (virile, I assume)saved his homestead from foreclosure doing the ‘dirty’ in gay porn. To me that’s a stretch beyond comprehension for there are jobs in str8 porn open to him, even if it doesn’t pay as well! Being a resourceful sort, there are other jobs available that he could have secured w/o dipping his toes in gay porn! You can’t convince me that any young hunk who claims to be str8 would expose himself to the pejorative job choice of gay porn without repercussions from his peer group! I think that you and some others are trying to validate his choice of gay porn because of necessity and no other choices were open to him! How about the hundreds of other teens taking on jobs that are main stream and yet are able to support their families? In short BS!!
Bryguyf69
@pscheck2: I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Really.
1) When did I say that he claimed to be “str8”? I don’t think that it’s ever been established whether he is straight or gay, and that wasn’t my point. My point was merely that gay porn pays a lot more, and if quick money is your goal, it’s one of the most effective legal avenues.
2) As for straight porn, have you watched any? Unlike gay men, straight male viewers generally don’t like younger male actors. The male actors are usually in their mid-20s to 30’s. Do you know of one major straight porn studio that uses 18 y/o males? Compare that with gay porn.
3) “How about the hundreds of other teens taking on jobs that are main stream and yet are able to support their families” Huh? And how many of those teens were able to stave off foreclosure? Sorry, but we’re not talking about helping to buy milk. So name me some jobs where a teen without a high school diploma or experience can save a house from foreclosure.
4) You seem ignorant about foreclosure, and his family’s predicament. If you know of another legal way to make a lot of quick money, please share it with us. In fact, share it with the many families facing foreclosure. You do know that America was in the midst of a foreclosure crisis, right? Watch the news.
5) Who said that he didn’t expect teasing from peers? What he didn’t expect was outright bullying — because it’s illegal — and being suspended. You need to educate yourself on the actual story and the foreclosure crisis.

I believe it’s entirely possible to identify as either gay or straight but still have bisexual tendencies. I’ve known both hetero and gay identified men who are like this. I’m not, I’m 100% gay, but I try to keep an open mind. Arguing that a man couldn’t possibly be straight because they enjoy sex with another man is not unlike people who say we choose to be gay because that’s the only way their logic can wrap their head around the subject. As being identified as LGBT becomes more and more acceptable, I think we’ll be seeing just how broad the sexual spectrum truly is.
jestgr
Okay. Maybe it’s just me, but I find the whole idea of “gay-for-pay” a total turn off and a bit offensive. If I find out that an actor claims to be gay-for-pay, I feel like that guy is only using the gay community. He doesn’t support us but he’s willing to lower his standards for our money. Plus you can almost see the disgust in their eyes, especially if it’s one of those “straights” that won’t do anything but let another guy blow him. Why would I want to watch some guy who’s not even into what he’s doing? (i.e. Mike Roberts or Cody Cummings). You might as well put Ryan Idol back up on screen. Oh, wait…
I agree with a lot of the comments here. So, dear “gay-for-pay” boys, either admit you’re bi and that you enjoy(ed), to some extent, what you’re doing (Reese Rideout or Jeremy Bilding) or just stick with solo masturbation where you don’t look so disgusted at being touched by another guy. (Okay. I may be a bit of a hypocrite. I will admit to enjoying watching you straight guys jerk off in solo performances.)
But in a group, no. Give me a group of hot, horny, gay boys any day. The ones who really enjoy what they’re doing and it shows. Why can’t we see more of them? Come on, gay porn directors! Go find us the next Topher DiMaggio or Brent Everett! I hate the proliferation of gay-for-pay in gay porn.

Anything “forbidden” has an air of excitement about it that is unique to each individual…while on the surface it appears to be the same attraction to all who are attracted, there is always a personal desire/satisfaction hidden below the surface that is sort after by each individual…both consciously and subconsciously.
The subject has been, and probably will be analyzed over and over again….and theories have been, and will be presented over and over again, but they will never be more than theories because each and every individual has a different concept of his or her reality.
What’s your theory on ‘Which came first, the chicken or the egg’?

Here we go again. They are not straight, fools! It’s called bisexual!
stuartaidanlover
And straight women who enjoy gay porn! What’s that about?
OhHellNo
It’s interesting that I’ve personally seen two of the guys in the trailer having nothing but gay sex in bathhouses on more than one occasion, but hey, whatever makes you feel better about your self-loathing…

@Mr. E. Jones: Also, straight men are directing it. About $$.
Sluggo2007
Men will stick their dicks in anything that feels good. Add to that more pay for gay porn and there you have it.

bi people make straight anti gay people think that gay is just a lifestyle choice,
i still don’t get it what’s good thing have they done for LGT community anyway,
why do we gay people care so much about bi people :/
and for these G4P i do believe that they’re straight, i mean try to give them money and tell them to fuck dead body of one of their members family they ll do it, they don’t care how fucked up that is, all they think is just getting much money without putting so much effort in it, money power for the win.
and for you stupid gays, you guys make me feel ashamed and regretting for being gay, i thought you’re proud of being gay,and we should be..but why the hell do you guys praise these G4P and hating real gay actors.. :/

@DarthKitsune:
i love your comment,, i think you’re the only person here with normal thinking.. and i’d rather have a real non porn actor to be my role model or successful gay people who don’t do porn but can make big accomplishment than these G4P or whatever they’re called
for me these G4P/bi people are on the lowest level of human being..
Just saying
Bye

Most gay men, myself included, had sex with women early on in their lives. My first three sex partners were all female. I knew even then that I was gay, but I did it because I wanted to experience sex and didn’t have a man handy at the time. And yes, I got hard, and sort of enjoyed it, but there was no emotional connection the way that there is with men. None of which made me straight or bi.
That said, anyone is physically capable of having sex with any gender if he/she really wants to or has a specific motive. Money is certainly one motive (young straight teens having sex with men for money is very common), and so is a need to hide one’s sexuality. And then there’s prison, where straight men and women develop all sorts of sexual rituals with same-sex inmates in exchange for physical release and an emotional connection.
So sure… these men are probably straight (why doubt them without proof), but they have moved passed the “ick” factor that cultural homophobia forces on straight people and they do it for the payoff (money). We should actually BE COMMENDING THEM for being enlightened enough to realize that a hole is a hole, a hand is a hand, and a mouth is a mouth. It all feels good if there’s a check at the end of the day.

@vive: Yes they’re bisexual; but contrary to the myth and what people believe you do not make a lot of money in porn, and you don’t make more money doing all male/gay/bisexual porn than hetero porn.

I wanna punch the lights out of who coined the stupid term gay for pay. Because there is straight for pay, too, if that’s the case. Michael Christopher and Jon King did straight porn. It’s called bisexual, fools. And when you are a desperate cheap ‘ho’ and someone waves hundreds or thousands of dollars in front of you to fuck a pussy or suck a dick, some of them would probably eat vomit for cash, who knows? Many of them have nothing else to fall back on..
There are plenty of men who work in straight porn who would never and haven’t done gay porn because it grosses them out too much.
As far as making money, unless you are lucky and have a business acumen and run your own production company, etc, there is little money to be made. Brent Corrigan is worth about $1.5million. But he started producing his own videos, etc.. Kristen Bjorn on the other hand, has become wildly wealthy because almost no one else is doing what he does or has done what he done in such a prolific manner.
Some women in porn make millions. Arpad Miklos made six figures as did several other top male porn stars. Six figures a year couldn’t save Arpad’s sanity and wrenching depression.

It goes to show anyone can fuck. Making love ain’t so easy!
