Sinar Harian is one of the leading newspapers in Malaysia. It just published a #fakenews article with bullet points on the distinctive qualities that can help identify gay people in a crowd.

According to the paper, gay men can be identified by:
- Going to the gym not for exercise but to check out other guys
- Wearing tight t-shirts to show off their six-packs
- Their love of beards
Meanwhile, lesbians can be identified by:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
- Hugging or kissing other women
- Holding hands with other women
- Talking about how much they hate men
Activist Arwind Kumar, one of Malaysiaâs biggest social media stars, called the article âstupidâ in a new video post.
âHow the hell does a gay person endanger your life?â he said. âThere are much more important issues in this country which need to be addressed.â
The video has been watched nearly 130,000 times on YouTube and Facebook.
Homosexuality is illegal in Malaysia and punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

All this is very similar to what Jews got in pre war Germany. History repeats itself.
Ummmm Yeah
Muslim’s. What do you expect?

As always, the regressives rely more on their fearful imagination than on reality, as expected from the most fragile of snowflakes.
Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world has no laws criminalizing homosexuality. It is cultural, not religious. You can find the same kinds of articles in the “newspapers” and websites those you so desperately idolize read. And among the US evangelical “values voters”, nothing would please them more than re-criminalizing homosexuality.
There are any number of organizations in the US to “protect the family” that publish the same nonsense regularly, and that the men you voted for pander to constantly.
Please regain contact with reality!

“Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world has no laws criminalizing homosexuality. It is cultural, not religious.”
Not entirely true. Several religious based Islamic organizations have issued fatwahs for gay couples, a gay sauna was raided in 2017, also in 2017 there were 14 men arrested at a “gay party”, and many other instances based on pressures from Islamic groups.

So, you should be the one who regains contact with reality.

@mhoffman953, but dwes09 is technically correct. Your link doesn’t disprove him. Islamicist groups may pressure the government to crack down on homosexuality, but despite having the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia does not have national laws criminalizing homosexuality. Fundamentalism has risen there over the last 30 years as the governments have faced a range of crises, but just last December, as the Financial Times reported, Indonesia’s Supreme Court refused to ban extramarital gay sex. Are you going to regain contact with “reality” yourself?

@Kangol
My response was in regards to him citing that these push backs against gay rights in Indonesia are culturally based and not religious based. The link I included and examples show that it is an Islamic religious argument that opposes gay rights. This is why I wrote “not entirely true”, thus indicating that part of his statement is true but part is not true.
Plus the reason that the Indonesian Supreme Court refused to ban gay sex and criminalize gays to death in a 5/4 ruling was because they felt that decision should be left up to lawmakers and not judges. The decision wasn’t based on a love of gays
Next time, take time to read the entire response before trying a “gotcha” response.
Islam hates gays. To frame it as if Islam does not hate gays and that it is entirely culturally based hatred is false.

@dwes09 Would that make Indonesia the exception or the rule? Why would you try to defend/compare quality of life for a gay person in a muslim country to the western world? Where would you rather be gay – a typical western country or a typical muslim country? Please afford the same criticism to Islam that you do to Christianity.

Apparently they’ve never heard of bears. Which is odd since they then mention a love of beards.
tham
what are they talking about? I hate beards. When did beards become a gay thing?
ChrisK
Here it’s common place but in Malaysia it’s more rare and of coarse easier to demonize.

If we are going to the gym only to check out guys, not workout, how are we getting the 6 packs to show off in our t-shirts? đ

Who knew all those Orthodox Jews were secretly gay?

“Talking about how much they hate men”
Oh, come on. That would mean that ALL women are lesbians!

Can Malaysians get any more stupid? They must be the stupidest people on Earth.

If the beard is well groomed, within an inch of its life..probably gay. My friend Luane called them gay beards. Gym? Probably but more so in the 80s, 90s, when gay men were the main ones going to the gym (like most things straight got the idea later). The hugging stuff is really also many gay men not just lesbians. But I am going on like this article is relevant!
